Jenny emphasises that all healing and transformation happen within our own mind, not in the external world. The miracle does not awaken you, but merely shows you who the dreamer is. It teaches you there is a choice of dreams while you are still asleep, depending on the purpose of your dreaming.

Barret gently exposes the belief that the path is hard, as another ego tactic. The idea that ‘it will be difficult’ is used by the ego to keep you from taking any steps at all. The ego clings to this belief, whispering that awakening is a hard fought battle rather than a safe unfolding plan, that we gradually awaken into.

In this ACIM Satsang Barret also speaks about the prayer from A Course in Miracles - "I do not know the thing I am, and therefore do not know what I am doing, where I am, or how to look upon the world or on myself." This prayer is an invitation to accept humility and give up the "I know" mind. It asks us to step beyond our self-concepts into the vast and spacious truth of what you are. To the ego, this ‘loss of self’ may feel frightening, but to the Spirit, this is true liberation.
