In this lunch gathering at the Awaken to Love Center, Jenny Maria and Barret De La Luz describe how bodies being close can be mistaken for connection, but real joining happens in the mind, regardless of physical proximity. Whether with a partner, a sister, or a lifelong friend, attachment through guilt only reinforces the separation from God. Through the teachings of A Course in Miracles, healing begins when we see these patterns clearly and choose to release them, allowing a pure, all-inclusive love to rise—one that needs nothing and frees everyone.

Also, there is a sharing on a father’s deep concern for his daughters—a feeling that seems so natural and loving. Yet it's revealed that even this concern, as heartfelt as it may appear, is something to release into God's hands. The Holy Spirit’s involvement is already total and complete; our personal concern actually gets in the way of experiencing true love. Letting go does not mean indifference—it means trust: trusting that God’s loving embrace reaches each of us fully without our anxious interference.

This morning's session focuses on Lesson 114 (Review) ”I am Spirit” and “I will accept my part in God's plan for salvation” from the workbook of A Course in Miracles. After the lesson reading, you are invited into a deep contemplative space, (5-minutes of restful silence) to practice the ideas and allow the truth of the lesson to settle in. Jenny Maria speaks about letting the day be like a love song, encouraging lightness about the body and daily tasks, and to remember that "no body can contain my Spirit." She gently reminds that we are not meant to be "doers" or overly focused on other people, but rather to rest in the joy and freedom of being Spirit. 

She shares that "perception is a mirror, not a fact"—a powerful reminder that what we see is a reflection of our beliefs, not an objective fact. We are called to release judgment, forgive, and look upon the world with the eyes of Christ.

In this Satsang, Jenny Maria dives into "The Investment in Reality" and shares a deep reflection on how our mistaken identification with the ego is the source of all suffering. Quoting from the text of A Course in Miracles, she emphasizes that any response other than love arises from confusion about the nature of salvation—what it is and how it is attained.

Jenny Maria and Barret also reflect on the powerful line "the Christ mind is always awake," emphasizing that the truth of who we are has never fallen asleep. Jenny explains that while the ego mind may appear to wander or get lost in illusions, the Christ mind—our true Self—remains forever in the light, untouched by dreams.

Barret draws from the Course’s teachings on the obstacles to peace and speaks of our secret vow to suffer and the liberation that comes when we choose to undo that hidden promise. He helps us see that healing isn’t about fixing anything—it’s about letting go of what was never true. Like Dorothy clicking her heels to return home, we are called to remember that we never truly left. Everything real—everything loved—is still with us.

“You swore in blood not to raise your eyes, for you realized that, if you looked with fixed determination, you would be utterly undone.”

Chapter 19, "The Obstacles to Peace"

This message from the Course shows us our unconscious commitment to guilt, fear, and suffering—and how, despite that deep-seated resistance, we can choose to look beyond it and remember who we really are.

During this session, Barret encourages us to become inner trackers—attentive to the small signs of tension or fear, that signal an unrecognised thought or belief waiting to be forgiven. He encourages us to hand over these thoughts as often as they arrive.

Barret also explores the profound section in A Course in Miracles that declares, “There is no lack in the Son of God.” These words are a gentle reminder that we are already whole, already complete. When we believe something is missing—be it contentment, love, or peace—there’s only a mistaken belief. In truth, there has never been a gap between us and our loving Creator.

“God asks for nothing, and His Son, like Him, need ask for nothing. For there is no lack in him.”

Chapter 26, Section VII: "The Laws of Healing"

These sections support the core message in this Satsang: we are not broken, we are not lacking, and the only thing in need of healing is our mistaken belief in separation. As we unwind from the dream of the little self, we are shown that all the drama—the pain, the striving, the regrets—was “much ado about nothing.”
