The internal repetition of the mantra " I am here, I love you" (while you say your name) allows you to mindfully observe sensations in your body and connect to them. Sound bath meditation is said to bring the brain into a theta wave state. The theta state is typically a much more relaxed state and the one we need to find to induce relaxation. When we step away for a short period of time and engage in activities such as meditation, we normally find ourselves coming back more focused!
