For many of us, we have been taught that the more we achieve, the more we accomplish, the more we can feel good about our lives. However, there is one drawback that no one talks about. It’s a real issue that comes with being a high achievers. In fact, high achievers have an extra challenge. In this episode, my guest Mikal Nielsen and I will be opening up the conversation about what it means to be a high achiever; always on the go and and often stuck in the head not stopping long enough to look up and see where they are going. As Mikal describes it, high achievers don’t walk along in life, they run, which means when they run into walls it hits them harder than the average person, and higher impact means that the impact hurts worse.

Mikal Nielsen is a life coach who specializes in working with high achievers and an author of two books; one called The Quick Fix To Any Problem and a second book that he co-authored with his wife called Intimately Entwined.

After trying out a number of career options early on in banking and computers, he found his true calling  as a life coach for the last 20 years. He is passionate about helping people get more life out of life, more business out of business and more love out of relationships. In his work as a life coach, he is also very passionate about two things:

Growth - his own and facilitating it for others

Figuring out how things work - with a main focus on life and human beings

He is especially passionate about working with high achievers, and helping them to access their natural wisdom.

What does it mean to awaken? 

We hear about it every day in one way or another. We hear about ascension. We hear about consciousness. This is a topic that is not going away for a reason. The reason is, because it's time to break free from the herd mentality we have been conditioned to follow. Join me in this brief reflection about what awakening really IS.

The greatest contribution we can make to the world is our own coherence, because then it is only a matter of time. It's only a matter of time when the percentage of heart-conscious people is higher than those who are not. It will be the tipping point of all tipping points. When consciousness on the planet rises to a whole new level, so will the experience of life between human beings. Regardless of differences, people will be able to relate to one another differently with more compassionate latitude, care, and kindness. Ancestral wounds can finally heal, as we become the change we wish to see in the world.

Ken was born in Burbank CA and has lived in California all of his life. He grew up going to the beach, the mountains, the desert and Disneyland. Ken started working in a hospital kitchen at 16 years of age. He eventually transferred  into the engineering Department.  He met his beautiful wife Carmen at Saint Jude hospital in Fullerton. They have been married for over 40 years have six children, 14 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Ken started his career as a field technician repairing computers. During his 30 years with Unisys he was a trainer, a client service manager and a project manager. He was assigned to manage projects for the Department of Defense, TSA, and the Los Angeles International airport. Ken took early retirement and some time off. Eventually he went to work at the happiest place on earth Disneyland. He is a security trainer and has taught the Our Disneyland Story to new Cast Members. Ken is an adjunct professor at Rio Hondo College teaching business management courses. He is a Distinguished Toastmaster through Toastmasters International and earned an MBA from University of Phoenix. Ken is the owner of Golden Rule Coaching and now, he is also the co-founder of Wild Hearts Rising where we are teaming up to ignite more heart-conscious leaders in the world. Working with Heart based modalities, Zissis has seen significant shifts with his coaching, corporate, and first responders’ clients bringing much relief from event related stress incidents and trauma. Zissis’s purpose and life mission are to awaken this hearts intelligence in as many people as possible, bringing a more coherent consciousness on the planet and by extension healing oneself and radiating more love.   One of his favorite quotes by  Einstein said “Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness.” Zissis believes passionately that if we want our species to survive, if we are to find the meaning of life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer. It is the variable that we ignored too long. In this time of great change Love is the only answer.

Joining me on this maiden voyage is my good friend and HeartMath colleague, Elaine McGuiness. Elaine has been in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. She is a HeartMath clinician, a health care practitioner, a Oneness Trainer, a life coach and clinical hypnotherapist, as well as the author of the book, “Unleash Your Authentic Self.”  She has been fighting on the frontlines battling the COVID-19 pandemic in Ireland, and is a source of great compassion and encouragement for all those who have been so deeply affected by the virus; helping many to stay strong and helping them maintain the will to live.

Elaine is a fierce advocate for authenticity. She brings with her so much wisdom from her experiences, and shares amazing new research that shows how family histories can affect our genes, and as a result, affect who we are, and how we show up in the world.

What’s even more fascinating is how we can choose to rewire ourselves and drop the conditioning so often applied from childhood, and then unknowingly taking it on as our own. She is passionate about teaching people and showing us how powerful we really are, and how we can be FREE to BE and unleash our authentic selves.
