A French DJ based in Paris, Lola Cerise was born in a family of creatives, her mother was
a classical musician, and her uncle was a chief orchestra. She played the piano but
confesses her rebellious side lead her to do her own thing, where during her teenage
years became a regular at many illegal raves where she discovered acid core, tribal and
tribe core genres.
When she was a teenager, she openly talks about her mother’s battle with depression
over her parents’ divorce, a situation which has deeply created her necessity for a
hardworking attitude, along with never needing to depend on anyone but herself to
achieve her goals.
At 18, she initially moved to Lyon to study art and made the decision to learn
photography as a profession, dropped out of university and became a part time model
to help pay for her studies. After some years studying photography, she decided to move
to Australia for 3 years, where she started to get back into raving. It was there Lola
started to play around with DJ’ing, progressing to producing within a year and soon
realised that she needed to move to a new city, Paris in 2022.
Lola’s music is a reflection of all of these experiences, sometimes its fast and intense,
other times more emotive and complex, but always tells a story. She has released on
Gomboc Records, Comme des les films, Khazad Records and Record Union, supported
already by Indira Paganotto, I Hate Models and Cera Khin, she also has landed a slot as
a resident at the legendary Gotec Club, whilst starting her own label First Date Without
Panties, alongside key streams with HÖR Berlin, and BCCO. She announces her debut
in 2025, with an 8 track mini LP on ARTCORE, a big milestone and the start of an exciting
new journey.
