The Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort certainly delivered a thrilling race. As Monique describes it, flags, failures and firsts. From the high of all highs seeing Oscar Piastri extend his lead of the F1 World Drivers Championship, to the low of lows with a double DNF for Ferrari and that championship-ending mechanical failure for Lando, The Netherlands F1 Race had it all. 

The home boy hero, Max Verstappen, finished second along with a first-timer on the third step, adding a mega feel-good factor to an action packed race.

Greg Rust—better known as Rusty of Rusty's Garage and Australian Grand Prix racetrack commentary fame—has plenty of stories to tell. Anything but predictable, the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix was full of surprises (even for a certain Ferrari driver!) and unexpected results. Ferrari’s first pole of the season, two Aston Martins qualifying in the top ten ahead of Max Verstappen who qualified eight. In fact, it was the closest qualifying in Formula history. 

Strategy played a big role in the race result that Monique (reporting from a super yacht in Croatia) and Di unpack. 

Budapest is also a beautiful travel destination with delicious lesser-known food. Di recounts a confronting moment in the city known for its Roman baths, and Monique shares tips on the best time of year to visit besides race weekend of course.

In Di's own words: "The Belgian Grand Prix was exciting, then a fizzer". What could have been an action-packed wet race was mighty mundane after the first ten or so laps, with just one driver daring to try a different strategy. But, Belgium (the country) makes up for Belgium (the race) with beautiful architecture and some pretty bangin' national dishes, which Di and Mon have some fun reminiscing about.

Since accidentally starting a career in motorsport, Alexandra Schieren has clocked up 25+ years’ experience that includes single-seater racing to being the FIA Formula 1 Press Delegate, working for race promoters, and drivers and in many different disciplines.

Alexandra generously shares stories of how she got her career start, and keeps Di and Mon enthralled as she tells of a time when tyres kept blowing up before the 2005 Indianapolis Grand Prix that saw only six F1 cars in the race, and what it was like working in the media centres during the first Las Vegas Grand Prix when that man hole cover ruined Carlos’ Sainz Ferrari F1 car during practice.

The Formula 1 British Grand Prix did not disappoint. Wind, rain, sunshine and rain again, and again, brought the safety car out more times than changes to Red Bull’s second seat. The best story of the weekend was Nico Hulkenberg’s first podium finish after 15 years and 239 races. 

McLaren’s Lando Norris took the top step to be the hometown hero winning his first British Grand Prix, but we hardly talked about it because THAT penalty that was served to Oscar Piastri ruined his chance of a sure victory. Mr Cool Calm and Collected no more, Oscar was salty. 

What did you think about Oscar Piastri’s 10-second penalty? Was it fair or too harsh? We know we’ve never seen him angrier. 

Five DNFs and lots of on-track drama ensued at Silverstone, making this year’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix as entertaining as ever. 

Lots of juicy rumours are flying around and Di & Mon discuss some of them ahead of the silly season. 

We chatted about some ideas of where to stay when going to the British Grand Prix and an English classic was on the menu at Mon’s house.
