Elon Musk wants to send 100s of his new Starship rocket to Mars in the next few years with human crews. NASA's Artemis programme has Mars as it's ultimate destination for humans in the 2030s.

But Mars is going to try and kill them all.

Traveling to Mars is dangerous. Landing on Mars is dangerous. Staying on Mars is dangerous. Lifting off from Mars is dangerous. And returning from Mars is dangerous.

SpaceX’s Starship gives us the best hope of putting people on Mars, getting them home again or getting infrastructure to Mars to keep them alive. But that's still in proof of concept phase and Elon Musk himself confirms, Mars is 'tough sledding'.

Here's all the ways Mars is going to try and kill people - creating an ever expanding graveyard for those that try.
