Ever felt a cold, gripping fear clawing at your heart, trying to drown you in a sea of doubts and insecurities? If your answer is yes, then this episode is for you. We begin by diving into my personal journey where fear and its harrowing cousin, terror, took center stage. Poetry, as you’ll see, is my vehicle of expression and I share my poem, "Wallflower," inspired by a DJ set, that metaphorically lays bare my struggles and eventual triumph over these emotions. The key takeaway—fear and terror, however menacing, do not define us or our paths!
Our conversation evolves and we tackle the Goliath that is imposter syndrome. You wouldn't think, as I share experiences from writing my first book and leading postal operations at Ramstein Air Base, that this was ever a struggle for me. Thanks to the unwavering support of mentors like Brandon Allen from New Work Revolution, these experiences have been my stepping stones to overcoming this challenge. We also delve into the bittersweet journey of quitting a project that was dear to me. It was a hit to my self-esteem, but the lessons learned were priceless and pivotal for my growth.
We wrap up our chat by celebrating the joy that is rhyming and freestyle—a beautiful reminder to stay present and appreciate the moment. I share how quitting and heartbreak can surprisingly pave the way for better opportunities and how the end of a relationship can open numerous doors of possibilities. This episode is a testament to the fact that self-growth, resilience, and courage can guide us on the path to overcoming any challenge that life throws at us. So, strap in and join me on the Axé All Day Podcast for this enriching discussion, and remember to keep the podcast family close because, at the end of the day, the work is about being present without judgment.

Ever felt torn between the allure of individual sovereignty and the comfort of communal connectedness? I'm taking you on a journey through the intricate dance of independence and interdependence, pulling back the curtain on these two defining aspects of human experience. We'll tackle everything from the philosophical premise of Indra's Net to the everyday implications of our choices and relationships. The magic lies in the balance, in the harmony of self-reliance and cooperation.
Through my personal narrative, I share how the tension between standing alone and forging connections can bloom into something beautiful: a community built on the bedrock of personal responsibility yet woven together by shared experiences. As I recount my own struggles with loneliness and the joy of liberation born from independent action, I unravel the essential truth that growth often sprouts from discomfort. This episode is a heart-to-heart talk about authenticity, balance, and the transformative power of interdependence.
But this isn't just a philosophical exploration. This is also a deeply personal account of my journey into the realm of psychedelic healing, a pathway that catapulted my growth and understanding of interdependence into new dimensions. As I share my experiences with plant medicine, integration therapy, spiritual practices, and mindfulness, I invite you to ponder on the profound power of healing and its potential role in your life. This isn't just an episode; it's an invitation to reflect, to question, and to awaken to the possibility of a life beautifully balanced between independence and interdependence.

In this episode, I explore my concept of effortless truth and the impact it has had on my personal journey of self-acceptance and integrating shadow.
Effortless truth is the practice of radical self-examination and honesty. Communicating with yourself how things really are when we look beyond biases and filters.
It can be incredibly challenging, but it can also help us connect with ourselves and the world around us in a much deeper way.
Effortless Truth creates space for us to see ourselves and the world with greater clarity and compassion.

Being a single father is tough, but it's even tougher when you attempt to take on a system that is unsupportive to fathers. In this episode, I open up about how I've been working to see my children after divorce. I share some of the challenges, resources, and emotional / spiritual strategies that I believe will be helpful to single fathers in a similar situation.
We face a number of challenges, including financial hardship, social isolation, and the stress of not being able to see our children.
The legal system can be biased against fathers in custody cases. Even when we are doing everything we can to show we are capable and loving parents.
There are resources available to help single fathers cope with the challenges they face.
If you're a single father who is struggling to see your kids, I want you to know that you're not alone. There are resources available to help you, and there is a community of people who understand what you're going through.
I hope that by sharing my story, I can help other single fathers who are facing the same challenges. I also hope that I can raise awareness of the challenges faced by single fathers and the need for more support.

Spiritual Bypassing: What It Is and How to Avoid It
In this episode, we'll explore the concept of spiritual bypassing. What is it? How does it work? And how can we avoid it?
Spiritual bypassing is a common way of coping with difficult emotions and experiences. It involves using spiritual beliefs or practices to avoid dealing with our pain and suffering.
For example, someone who is struggling with anxiety might say, "I'm just going to focus on my breath and let go of all my worries." Or someone who is grieving a loss might say, "I know that my loved one is in a better place now, so I should be happy for them."
While there is nothing wrong with spiritual beliefs or practices, they can be used in a way that is harmful. When we use them to avoid dealing with our pain, we are not allowing ourselves to heal.
Two powerful tools that can help us to avoid spiritual bypassing are radical acceptance and surrender.
Radical acceptance and surrender are the practice of accepting our experiences, both positive and negative, without judgment. It means accepting that things are the way they are and that we cannot change them.
How to Avoid Spiritual Bypassing
Here are a few tips for avoiding spiritual bypassing:
Conclusion
Spiritual bypassing is a common way of coping with difficult emotions and experiences. It can be harmful because it prevents us from healing. However, there are tools that can help us to avoid spiritual bypassing, such as radical acceptance and surrender. By practicing these tools, we can open ourselves up to healing and growth.
