  • “Managing Gen Z Is Different” – Here’s What Leaders Need to Know

Why do Gen Z employees and their managers keep misunderstanding each other? Leadership consultant Nikhil Raval argues that stereotypes hide a more complicated reality shaped by geography, class, technology and the radically different conditions in which younger people grew up.

We discuss what distinguishes Indian Gen Z, why an urban employee in Mumbai may have different expectations from someone raised in a smaller city and how global media is changing ambition, family life and work. Nikhil explains why disengagement, unclear career paths and poor feedback drive young workers away, while Gen Z must also learn that responsibility, resilience and success cannot arrive instantly.

The conversation then turns to multigenerational leadership, hybrid work, mentorship and the assumptions each generation makes about the others. Nikhil shares the central idea behind Generational Fusion, why millennials are caught between Gen X and Gen Z and how AI and automation may reshape life for Gen Alpha. We finish with polarization, human happiness and why better leadership still gives him hope.

  • Julien Belmont: Social Media Is Rewiring Us. Can We Build Something Better?

What happens when platforms profit from keeping us angry, addicted and endlessly scrolling? Julien Belmont, creator of the social network Life, argues that the advertising model has gradually turned people into products, rewarded outrage and weakened the human connections social media once promised to strengthen.

We discuss Julien’s experience of online bullying, why groupthink makes cruelty spread and whether the companies that built today’s platforms can be trusted to repair them. Julien explains how Life aims to change the incentives through creator revenue sharing, charitable giving, user-controlled feeds, business tools and design choices that reduce compulsive behaviour.

The conversation then turns to power, investor pressure, political echo chambers and Gen Z’s difficulty engaging with opposing views. We finish with doomscrolling, rebuilding trust, Julien’s desire to address poverty and the Christian faith that shapes his hope in people.

  • Chris Hood: AI Is Overhyped, Misunderstood and Changing How We Think

What if the biggest problem with artificial intelligence is the story being sold around it? Chris Hood argues that companies, investors and online commentators routinely exaggerate what AI can do, encouraging people to mistake fluent output and clever marketing for autonomy, emotion or understanding.

We discuss what changed when ChatGPT became publicly accessible, why Chris believes the underlying ideas are older than the current boom and how competition turned AI expertise into a professional status signal. Chris also explains why he rejects confident predictions about machine sentience and what separates human emotional intelligence from simulated conversation.

The conversation then turns to students losing critical-thinking skills, AI-assisted education, job automation and the corporate incentives behind replacing workers. We finish with AI dating and companionship, crisis support, personal agents, regulation, deepfakes and how to learn about AI without falling for promotional hype.

    Chapters:

01:14 What AI can and cannot do

10:53 Separating real capability from hype
13:07 Sentience could arrive tomorrow or never
