I strive to provide detailed and trustworthy information regarding community events and activities and for this reason I am offering both individuals running for the County Supervisor position of District IV the ability to discuss their vision and position on County issues.

Each interview will be held separately and will focus on the individual, please no discussing about others running, just yourself.

2 - Do you feel that the citizens have a connection to the Navajo County Board of Supervisors?
3 - What do you believe should be done to maintain Navajo County as a great place to live?
4 - What do you believe will be the biggest challenge to Navajo County in the coming years?
5 - Based upon the “Fiscal Cliff” that Navajo County faces, how do you believe the County should be spending money and in what areas should money be spent, likewise in what  areas do you believe there should be cuts?

Here is an informational flyer for Show Low voters regarding Proposition 407 (a city proposition appearing on the August 30 primary election ballot). It asks voters to consider a permanent adjustment to the state-imposed spending limit, which was established in 1980 based on Show Low’s 1980 expenditures and 1978 population figures. This adjustment is very similar to the Home Rule option that gives the Council local control of the city’s finances. And, like the Home Rule option, there is no impact to the city’s existing taxes or revenues. The difference is that instead of voting for a temporary Home Rule adjustment every four years, the permanent base option would mean not having another Home Rule election for another 20, 30, or more years. WHAT:
The 1st Annual Princess Walk is coordinated by members of Jericho Charities Fundraising Committee. These dedicated individuals work and volunteer with programs provided by Jericho Charities, raising critical awareness and necessary funds for child abuse. This year's event is expected to draw over 100 White Mountain residents and plans to raise more than $2,000.

The event kicks off with a day at the spa where women in the community will get to experience a small part of our Princess Program with complimentary hair make- up and shopping amongst 400+ dresses. A 2-mile walk in downtown Show low on Saturday, September 10th at 3:00 pm and ends at The House Restaurant for a dance party. The $15 fee for participation in the walk will include hair, makeup, a dress and raffle ticket.

Rules and Format:

• Each candidate will be given two minutes to provide an opening statement and closing remarks.  The order of responses has been predetermined.  
• After the opening statement we will move to the questioning portion of the debate.  At that point the first person called upon will have 2 minutes to answer the question; all others will have 1 minute to respond.  Again the order of responses has been randomly predetermined.
• JoAnne Guderian will serve as our timekeeper.   Intro JoAnne…..  JoAnne will have signs to signal the candidates at 30 seconds, 15 seconds and STOP
• We may add a “lightening round” (time permitting) in which candidates will answer YES or NO – this will be a fast-paced round with no explanations allowed.
• At the end of the question period, (approximately 1:20pm) we will move into the final statements from each candidate.  Again we will have a 2-minute limit on those.  This order has also been predetermined.

Immigration reform seems to be taking front stage again in light of Britain leaving the European Union, in part because of the forced open border requirements and the overall immigration laws in the union. What are your thoughts on borders and immigration reform? 

Question # 3

How do you intend to control and/or eliminate Federal Government overreach into business’s ability to manage their workplace?

Question # 4

    What is the federal government’s role in education curriculum, funding and standards? And what will you champion here? 

Question # 5

  On June 12th, Omar Mateen, killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.  It was labeled terrorist attack/hate crime. It was the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter, the deadliest incident of violence against LGBT people in U.S. history, and the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. since September 11th. 

More recently

On July 7th, Micah Xavier Johnson ambushed and fired upon a group of police officers in Dallas, Texas, killing five officers and injuring nine others. Two civilians were also wounded. 

In light of incidents like these, what is your position on our 2nd amendment rights and gun control?
