There’s a phrase I keep hearing lately: “life is lifing.” It’s the perfect way to describe those seasons when responsibilities pile up, and you feel like you’re running on a treadmill you never meant to step on.

I’ve felt that way recently. And in the middle of it, I reminded myself that I am in this world, but I am not of it. Jesus never promised to remove the chaos. In fact, in John 17:15, He prayed, “I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.”

He didn’t ask for the “lifing” to stop. Instead, He asked for our protection.
  

And He invites us – in the mix of it all – to come to Him for true rest so we can live in this world and still influence it for good.

As you reflect on this, remember these words: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

Be Reflective: Where do you feel the “lifing” most intensely right now, and how might Jesus be inviting you to rest in Him? What simple shift – in rhythm, mindset, or prayer – could help you stay grounded in Christ while still showing up for the world around you?

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, when life feels fast and heavy, draw me back to Your steady presence. Remind me, Father, that I am in this world but not of it, and keep me from becoming so consumed that I miss the chance to reflect Your goodness. Amen.

There are moments in life when something unwanted drops into our path, and our first instinct is to beg God to take it away. We assume the only good outcome is its removal. But so often, the very thing we want gone is the thing God is using to reveal His power, His purpose, and His presence.

Think of the man born blind. The disciples were quick to assume his suffering was someone’s fault — his or his parents’. But Jesus made it clear: this wasn’t about blame. What looked like a problem was actually a platform for God’s glory.

Sometimes our assumptions about our hardships are miles away from what God is actually doing. When you take refuge in Him — not just turn to Him, but rest in Him — you begin to see the light in His light.

As you reflect on this, remember these words: “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.” Psalm 36:9 ESV

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, when I face what I do not want and cannot understand, steady my heart in Your presence. Help me to trust that You are working in ways far greater than what I can see. Teach me to take sincere refuge in You…to rest in Your light, and to trust that Your power is at work in every part of my story. Amen.

When God places an assignment on your heart, excitement often comes with hesitation. You want to step forward, but fear, doubt, or even distractions can cause delay.

Webster defines “blindsided” as being “surprised unpleasantly,” and many of us know that feeling all too well. One moment you’re standing tall, hopeful about a long‑awaited season, and the next, something hits you so hard it knocks the wind out of you. And often, when we get back up, we don’t rise the same way. We stand guarded. We whisper, “Never again.”

But even in those moments, God offers a path forward.

First, trust even more in the unseen. The only way out of what you couldn’t see coming is to lean into the God who sees everything.

Second, guard your heart. Not with walls, but with wisdom — processing the pain so it doesn’t poison your spirit.

Third, keep pressing. You were born for this moment, and God promises a harvest for those who don’t give up.

Even when you’re blindsided, He is with you.

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, when I stand at the edge of something new, steady my heart. Quiet the fears that tell me to stay where it feels safe, and help me to trust the steps You’re calling me to take. Give me the courage to move forward, not because I know the way, but because I know You are walking with me. Father, lead me in Your light and let every step draw me closer to Your purpose for my life. Amen.

Today is Easter Sunday, and I am rejoicing over God’s living water, that water we can drink from and never thirst again. 

We know from the Scriptures that at the time of Jesus’ death, the veil in the temple was ripped from top to bottom. This ripping represented the free, unlimited access people would now have to God through Christ’s sacrifice. Those people included the Samaritan woman who talked with Jesus at the well.

As the story goes, the Samaritan woman came down to the well with her bucket to fetch water, and Jesus told her that if she turned to Him, there was a water that he had, called living water, which would allow her to never thirst again.

Here’s one of the most poignant points in the passage for me. This woman had been married five times and was currently living with a man who was not her husband, yet nothing she had done placed her outside the reach of God’s grace and partaking in His living water.

When she learned that Christ was the Messiah, she forgot all about the water that she had fetched from the well because all she could focus on was this new living water. Once she learned of her free, unlimited access to the living water, she converted an entire town.

Who do you know who needs to hear that by turning to Christ, they too will have free and unlimited access to this living water? 

Let us spend the day rejoicing as we remember these words -- “Whoever believes in me… ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38 (ESV)

Be Reflective: How does being reminded that the veil in the temple was torn and you now have full access to God to reshape the way you approach Him? Who in your life might need to be reminded that their past does not disqualify them from His living water?

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son and the living water that never runs dry. Today, I come to You with an open heart, grateful for the access Your sacrifice has given me. Help me to drink deeply of Your grace and to share Your love freely. Amen.

Have you ever been in flight, anxious to land, only to hear the pilot say, “We’ve been placed in a holding pattern”? Your heart sinks a little. You were ready. You had plans. You thought you were moments away… and suddenly, you’re circling instead of landing.

Life with God can feel the same way. You’ve prayed, prepared, and positioned yourself, yet nothing is moving. Not because you’ve done something wrong, but because the timing isn’t aligned with His purpose just yet. A holding pattern isn’t punishment — it’s alignment. It’s God waiting for the conditions to match the calling.

And while you’re circling, He’s strengthening your trust, and settling your spirit. What feels like stillness is often strategic positioning. 

When the moment is right, God will clear your path. And you’ll land exactly where He intends.

As you reflect on that, remember these words -- “…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

Be Reflective: Where in your life do you feel like you’re circling, ready to land, but God is still saying, “Not yet?” How might this holding pattern be an invitation to trust His timing more deeply?

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, help me trust You when I feel stuck in the air. Strengthen my heart to wait with faith, not frustration. Align my steps with Your timing, and prepare me for the moment You release me to land exactly where You intend.” Amen.
