This week we are going to be reviewing “Fit”, a 2010 film full of short stories focusing on different relationships amongst a group of millennials.  I thought it would be quite interesting to again look at a collection of short films like we have done before, but this time they have an overarching narrative and are all connected to each other rather than just being separate small films with a common theme.

This week we are reviewing “It’s a Sin”, a British drama miniseries that takes place in London between 1981 and 1991, following the lives of several gay men and their friends while they live through the HIV & AIDS crisis in the UK.  It's been a while since we watched a TV show, and as the issue of HIV/AIDs is a close cause to the Sisters, how could we not look at this!

 On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing “Camp” by by L.C. Rosen, a book where we go to a summer camp for queers where inclusion and acceptance is high, but our main character is changing who they are to win the heart of one specific camper.  Since it’s the height of summer, it’s clearly a seasonal pick to review this now!

On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing “The Danish Girl”, a bi-opic around Lili Elbe, one of the first recipients of gender-affirming surgery.  With the amount of vitriol trans people are receiving in the UK and other parts of the world right now, it felt important to look at one of the key figures in history who pushed for their gender to be recognised despite societal pushback.

On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing “Bond of Dreams, Bonds of Love”, a manga about a high schooler finally admitting his love for his neighbour who is also a shinto priest and his determination to win him over.  It’s been a while since we reviewed a manga, so I thought it would be good to pick one I read several years ago to see how good it actually was.

On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "Boys on Film Presents: Campfire", a collection of four short films by Bavo Defurne from 1995 to 2000, all reflecting certain aspects of youth and sexuality.  We are reviewing this collection this week as it is the new year, I wanted to try another new medium to review, and we haven't looked at a collection of short films yet, so here we go!
