"Baby Talk" follows Tayo, a young boy initially excited but quickly disappointed by his new baby sister, Tinu, who seems to do nothing but cry, look funny, and smell bad. With his mother's guidance, Tayo gradually learns to interpret Tinu's different cries, understanding when she's hungry, needs to burp, or is overwhelmed. As Tayo deciphers this "baby talk," his frustration turns into understanding and affection, allowing them to bond and play together, culminating in Tayo discovering the reason for a particularly persistent bout of crying: Tinu is getting her first tooth.
