Back Corner

Kari Broad is the Associate Pastor of Ministries here at Kings Church. That means she oversees a whole lot of stuff from Kids and Youth ministries to Alpha and Home Church.  She is that rare combination of an organisation and operational wiz who has deep compassion for people and a true shepherd's heart. She has a pretty amazing story of healing, redemption, and God's guidance and provision.

With us today in the back corner is our friend Pete Stubbs. Pete is a former law enforcement officer with the RCMP and now serves as the Lead Pastor of Kings St Stephen. He'd rather be alone in the woods with his chainsaw, but we asked him to join us to talk about the latest news in the church world and his big decision to leave the RCMP to follow God's call on his life.

Our guest today is a living legend in local church leadership in Atlantic Canada. Pastor B led the Wesleyan Church in Moncton, NB (now called Tidal Church) for over 40 years and transformed it from a typical small church into a growing, vibrant, evangelistically effective congregation that, for many years, was the largest in the region. Since his retirement from leading that congregation, he has dedicated his life to serving other churches and leaders by helping them believe in what God can do through them and to have the security to pursue it. He is chronically encouraging, pathologically positive, endlessly energetic, and every day is the best day he’s ever had.

Father James Mallon is a Roman Catholic Priest in the Diocese of Halifax-Yarmouth and serves as the pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Fr James founded Divine Renovation - a worldwide ministry (with national offices in Canada, the UK, the US, Australia, and Germany) focused on parish renewal by helping parishes move from maintenance to mission. He has served on the world board of Alpha and has been a trailblazer in the Alpha in the Catholic Context movement. He is an in-demand speaker worldwide. If you are an evangelical pastor and have never heard of him, I guarantee you you have heard of leaders with whom he is friends and who come to him for wisdom, guidance, and inspiration. He is the author of multiple books, a proud kilt wearer, a haggis aficionado, and a leader and friend we are honoured to have join us in the Back Corner!
