Back in the Field

It's the episode you've all been waiting for: The Bet! Carl and Aarthi talk at length about this episode, hence it's extra long. There's not one but TWO audience participation points -- including a straw poll of our listeners! -- and multiple shoutouts to fandom folk. Included in the conversation: the possibility of drunk!Holt, Terry making a bad situation worse, Jake's date is all about him, Amy is a huge dork, Charles is mega creepy at the end, Gina doesn't know what a payphone is, this episode could have been a series finale, and plenty of crazed ramblings. All this and more!

In today's episode, Aarthi tells a quick story about meeting an SNL castmember, Carl elaborates on why Doug Judy might be the most formidable actually-a-criminal villain Jake has ever faced, Aarthi talks about how to fanwank Jake and Rosa's personal history together, and we bring you our first official segment on the Boyle/Gina shipwatch. Plus, we pose to you, the audience, a most important question: what is the other half of the puppies' mix? All this and more in Episode 11 of Back in the Field!

It's a double episode of holiday goodness! We discuss overarching plot threads, the meaning of family (fambly) and Aarthi rants about SantaCon at length. Plus, there's some cooing over Amy and analysis of just why rats in the ceiling are hilarious.

In today's episode, we talk about how a weak crime undermines what is otherwise an episode where we get lots of great character moments and get to everyone a little better. Plus: an episode about a positive female professional relationship between two women of color written by a woman of color!

[EDIT]: We misidentify Andy Samberg's alma mater as the UCLA film school. His actual alma mater is the NYU film school. Our apologies!

In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk at length about how awful Jimmy Brogan is, then share some of their own "worst hangover ever" stories, and then segue into Rosa's plotline. It's a short episode, but it's got some good meta and character notes, and Terry is the Team Dad as always.

The episode where we can't remember Kid Cudi's character's name, ruminate on New Jersey's peninsular island, and learn to stop worrying and love Charles Boyle a bit.

In today's episode, we talk about Halloween, why the Boyle/Santiago dynamic didn't really work, take strange meandering left turns, and over-use the phrase "bone person" and the Zelda treasure chest chime.

In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk about episode five, the squad getting drunk, an equal-opportunity sexual harasser, and times when each of them has been shipped. They also provide a number of important Public Service Announcements.

In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi talk about episode four, how Jake is The Worst, Amy's ability to deliver, and Terry gets a lot of character development! (As an aside: we apologize for the sound quality on this one. There was audio interference and all our limited technical prowess couldn't solve the issue.)

In today's episode, Carl and Aarthi are completely cracked out as they re-record (this is take two!) the third episode. This episode features discussion about the expense of corralling three of your leads into one plotline, Charles's fairy princess castle and role as wingman of making-you-more-awesome, and a lot of giggling and laughing by your hosts. It's a short ep, but it's a fun one!
