Join Danow, a Marvel fanboy, and TheDreadedNeko, a DC fanboy, go into this film as blind as bats and enter into a world of good bois, bad boys, and really really crazy women. and John Cena, who's somewhere in the middle of all that with his CGI package.

While I've been knee-deep in Japanese New Wave cinema, it's important to recognize, not only the socio-political and cultural norms that those filmmakers were railing against, but also the filmmaking theory that they were rebelling against as well.

Enter Yasujirō Ozu and his masterpiece, which is largely indicative of a more conservative understanding of Japan than the New Wave masters were concerned with, least of which Shohei Imamura, who was a disciple of Ozu who worked on Tokyo Story as well.

So let's delve into one of the greatest films ever constructed and see how it might affect us!

Yo, let me tell you a story about, perhaps, the best animated film of 2020. The second half of this film is BALLER!

But seriously, going into this film, I didn't know what to expect, and not only did this film circumnavigate so much of what I came to believe I had figured out, it did so in fantastic ways, and it's absolutely a roller-coaster ride once we hit the end of act two.

A new Disney film! I don't know what to expect going into this, but the visuals look neat enough, and- OH WOW, the water!

What do you get when you thrust a Grand Master florist with a burgeoning sociopolitical film movement in 1960's Japan? Most likely Hiroshi Teshigahara, who directed this allegorical film. I've heard many great things about it, some of it putting this into "best movie ever made" territory, but where will I stand after checking it out? I'm intrigued!

One of my favorite animated films! The film so nice, Hosoda did it twice! which is severely reductive when he very much improved upon what he set out to do with Out War Game. In any case, this film has a lot of heart, it introduced me to city pop, and it's quite dear to me, so let's watch along and listen to me rant about it, for better or worse!

We're about to rummage through all the memes and check out Spider-Man 3 for the first time since I originally saw it in theaters. Does the mid-200s CGI hold up? Will Mary Jane become a consistent character? How old has James Franco gotten? Does sweet pickle beer taste good? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
