With Thanksgiving this week, we talk about thankfulness on this episode as we also bring season 2 to a close for the remainder of 2019. Join in to listen to Joey’s bold (made up) percentages regarding Thanksgiving get-togethers and Justin’s dislike for decorating for Christmas prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you have enjoyed season 2 and we look forward to season 3 coming in 2020. God Bless!
Have you ever found yourself feeling jealous or angry of other people when they get a promotion at work? When They are working on a cool new project or when just regular ole good things happen to them and not you? We tend to feel that it happens quite frequently but it shouldn’t be this way. We need to start being happy for others, not bitter. Listen in to hear our take.
Off the cuff, unedited, and honest. Joey and Justin chat about all the “woke-ness” in our culture now-a-days. From what we understand of it. Questions we have. And other random thoughts. Agree or disagree, there are things we need to be able to discuss, debate, and still get along afterwards.
We live in such a fast paced, hurry from one thing to the next, more-more-more society. But is that really the way we ought to be living? Or more deeply put, is that really the way we were created to live? We think not. In this episode Joey and Justin talk about some of the detrimental effects of living in a constant state of busy and on the flip side, why we should learn to slow down, unplug, and enjoy life at hand.
Communication is key to any relationship be it romantic, friendship, work related, acquaintance, or just casual small talk. But it seems as though our interactions are far too often geared around giving our responses rather than really listening to what the other person has to say. In today’s episode, Joey and Justin talk about why we need to be really good at listening rather than just saying what we “think”.
As the times continue to change, so do the ways we operate within the world. How we interact and communicate. The things we do for leisure. And the things we value. But we don’t always tend to think that all changes are necessarily for the good and that the way things have been done in the past should be salvaged and passed on to the generations to come. Listen in to hear Joey and Justin’s takes on some of these topics.
There is a world of knowledge that we can find simply by reading good books. No matter what your interests are, there is an abundance of written material out there available to you just waiting to be read. And yes, there are other forms of learning and entertainment but the benefits of reading are unmatched and stand the test of time. So go put down your devices and pick up a good book!
Sometimes life throws us curve balls and things happen unexpectedly. Unfortunately at times, that means losing loved ones before “it was time”. Today we are joined by Mike Yarborough of Wolf&Iron to discuss some ways of coping with those feelings from his own experience and some ways to go about preparing for the inevitable. This is a heavy topic that no one likes to discuss but it is one that applies to most anybody listening.
You can find Mike on Instagram @wolfandiron or @rusticandmain for his beautiful, handmade wood rings.
Passivity and manliness arne’t necessarily synonymous with each other but we are seeing the lines blurred in today’s society. And topics like this are the reason for Back To Manhood. To bring up the discussions to get you thinking and examining your own life because, after-all, yours is the only life you have any control over. So listen in and don’t take the passive approach to life. Be bold. Be noble. Be assertive. Be a man.
Being a man doesn’t mean that you grunt, crush cans on your head, only dress a certain way, and that you have a beard. There is so much that makes a man, manly. And that’s what we’re after at Back To Manhood, being real men. And not just that but being really GOOD men. So in this episode Joey and Justin break down some of their thoughts on the push for “machoism” compared to just plain old manhood.
