Back to The Music

.
Come. What. May.
.
Once, a farmer yielded to God's calling to go on a mission trip to the Amazon, fearlessly bringing the Christian gospel to some of the world's most isolated and ferocious tribes living in the jungle.
.
This anecdote brings to mind my father's own story.
Decades ago, he returned to Hong Kong alone, just to fulfil God's calling for him to start this church.
A host of enemies got in the way, attempting to sabotage his efforts, but my father held on.
.
Until the day God calls him home, he'll keep submitting himself to His will, living up to the prayer that Jesus modelled to his disciples:
His Kingdom come; His will be done.

——————————————————————————

【All Consuming Fire 】
.
I am surrounded.
By wolves.
By savages.
By those who once called me brother.
Yet alone, I am in this forest of nightmares.
.
Snow drifts down upon my head like ashes from a severe wildfire.
My soul is set ablaze; the ethereal fire suffocates me, consuming me from the inside out.
But still, I will persevere.
Whatever. It. Takes.

——————————————————————————
🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Will you hear a lowly farmer's prayer?
There is nothing I have left to offer
They are savage, wild, and ruthless
I've heard the stories
For beyond these woods
A graveyard awaits me

B1:
If today has been my final tomorrow
For as long as I have breath, I will follow
Be my fire by night and cloud by day
As I enter the fray
For Your will be done, whatever it takes

A2:
Oh Father I yearn for living water
And when times are tough, I will not falter
Cast aside all earthly matters
Destroy, my tethers
I await your all-consuming fire

B2:
I do not deserve Your riches and honor
No amount of their persuasion
Can barter
I will pour my life and all I have
giving back what I owe
You condemn the proud exalting the low

B3:
In the midst of tribulations, unbothered
In the face of danger, you'll hear my laughter
They may threaten me with sword and spear
Yet my heart knows no fear
When all hope is lost, I know You are near

(Key raise Em)
B4:
In the midst of tribulations, unbothered
In the face of danger, you'll hear my laughter
They may threaten me with sword and spear
Yet my heart knows no fear
When all hope is lost, I know You are near

LP1: For Your will be done, whatever it takes

LP2: For Your will be done, whatever it takes

——————————————————————————

【Ease】

.
I think it’s every little kid’s dream to live the “pirate” life!
.
Imagine shouting orders to your motley crew as captain of your ship, the salty wind whipping excitedly against your face, as you scour for potential enemies with your spyglass. Not to mention all the thrilling sword fights and epic treasure hunts; oh boy, just thinking about it makes my heart leap for joy!
.
If there’s anything the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have taught us, it’s that a pirate’s life is never dull. If that’s the case, count me in!
.
I’m here to tell you that it’s never too late to reimagine those scenes and immerse yourself into those same swashbuckling adventures you once adored!
.
All you need is a nice bed, some paper hats, and simply let your mind take flight!

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Started as all great stories begin
Welcome aboard
See if anything is catching your eyes
Oh don't be shy
You might be in for surprises

What do you see
Out there in the deep
Creatures of myth
Or Spanish armadas armed to the teeth
Refusing defeat, battling pirate ships

B1:
I’m living on the seas
Caribbean seas
Thrilling fights and epic songs
The remnants of our past
Will wash away

When you are on the seas
So wild and free
Turning over a new leaf
It all begins when you commit
When you sign right here, join me at sea

A2:
Order some punch
A glass or two
Savour the view
Right before you start to close your eyes
You suddenly spy
Enemies on the horizon

No time to waste
Go sound the alarm
All hands on deck
Readying the cannons for attack
Oh all together
Hoisting the colours high

B2:
I’m living on the seas,
Caribbean seas
Treasure islands full of gold
You’re living inside your own
Blockbuster film

Just cruisin’ on the seas
No in between
It’s a sin not to go all in
Each action scene, and victory
Will persuade you to, stay at sea

B3:
Oh living on the seas
Caribbean seas
It’s a sailor’s life for me
The stories and epic tales
Are all too real

Yeah living on the seas
You best believe
You can do whatever you dream
Hold fast onto the steering wheel
Let your mind and soul be at ease

LP: Oh yeah be at ease

“Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, Who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭135:21‬
.
The City of Zion is where the Lord is,
And where we will also be,
Basking in His grace and glory,
Until the end of time!
.
It is a place of wonder
Whatever you think of appears
Whatever you hope for is delivered!
.
Millions come from around the world,
Hoping for just a taste of what Zion has to offer,
What no other nation on earth can:
God’s rich and undiminishing presence,
And his unwavering anointing!
.
It is a well that is never dry,
Ever abundant with wisdom and revelations,
Filling the thirsting hearts of those willing to listen,
Satisfying their weary souls,
With answers to questions that have existed,
Since the beginning of the universe.

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Oh hey young fella, why the sour face
Oh I can smell your sadness miles away
On this day, the sun is shining brightly be happy

What if I told you there is a place
Where you can let your inner child out to play
Not a joke, not at all,
Only the bravest of the souls go and take a look

B1:
Forget your worries, put them away
And solve your problems some other day
Cause it's a whole world out there to explore
Sailing to distant shores

So come and follow, follow my lead
Yes I can give you whatever you seek
Because a friend in need is a friend indeed
Welcome into our land of your make-beliefs

A2:
Streets of gold, everywhere you look
And crystal rivers carrying silver boats
Get a whiff, the air is full
Of laughter, and music

Armenian castles inlaid with gold
A hundred fifty ounces of steak to cook
Could it be? Could it be?
The place you store your wildest dreams
You're invited in!

B2:
Because we're living in harmony
It' an enormous family
Not even Disney movies can describe
Life that's this sublime!

It took some time to build it all up
Oh the beginning was a bit rough
And then one day we stopped lo and behold
Haters now look at us, yeah we told you so!

B3:
It's time to get up, outta your seat
And recognize it's all a dream
Though every smell and color felt so real
Realer than real can feel

Okay, I guess I'll cut you a deal
So pinky promise not to reveal
Because the land you seek isn't make-belief
It's the protagonist's origin story

【Between the Lines】| Music | Praise the Lord 2021 | Back To The Music

.
"If only I had cherished you..."
.
Have you ever wished that you had treated someone differently?
.
When we reflect on the past, more often than not we find regrets: if we had taken that extra time with our loved ones, cherishing every moment we spent together, we'd have been clear of guilt over the missed opportunities.

But time keeps slipping away. In the blink of an eye, yesterday is gone and can't be undone.
.
There's a way out though. Keep a thankful heart from this day on, appreciate every little moment and thing in life, and live your lives to the fullest to repay those who love you.
.
With this, love will travel through space and time, rewriting the past and morphing our regrets into new beginnings.

——————————————————————————

【Between the Lines】

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1
On Mother's Day, you did pray
For wishes three to be granted
The first was starting over
Another was more time
And finally, the third a thankful heart
Little did you know, it's all about to start

B1:
Though it seems you're trapped at home, no escaping
There's a hundred trillions stories that need writing
Inspirations are all around
Grab a pencil and write it all down
Sometimes it feels the world is standing still
But just because it stops means not you will

A2:
More time more time, need more time
Undo the past, be unbroken,
Many words still left unspoken
Like a seal upon the lips
Its fear that keeps it all chained up inside
Tsunamis of I love yous and goodbyes

B2:
Heaven knows that it is not always easy
For a legendary chronicle's not breezy
Put your eye to the microscope
Every moment is teeming with hope
A simple photograph that you may click
Contains a thousand words one cannot fake

B3:
Gotta read between the lines to see clearly
From the bottom of your soul you miss him dearly
Love can travel through space and time
Giving life to your poems and your rhymes
However deep your love is may it be
Reflections of the promises you keep

.
Teddy is our family’s little bundle of joy that is not so little anymore!
.
Although separated from his parents at birth, and brought to our home;
.
Although he can be too hyper at times, wreaking havoc around the house, only to flash the saddest of faces to garner our sympathy;
.
He is undoubtedly the happiest and warmest dog in the universe, a living embodiment of joy itself!
.
Similarly, whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, let's hold on to these loving qualities, for they will
.
【This is your moment 】

.
"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
What is a family
What is a mom and dad to me
These questions I wish I knew
I've got no choice but to go

B1:
Far away from here
The rolling fields
The mountains and the trees
Find myself inside
A jungle of stone
That's dark and cold

Heart's open wide
Ready to invite all that is good inside
For life's an open door
The sweet and sour, you've got the power
To face it all
Put on a frown or put on a smile
And go that extra mile, it's worth your while
Cause everything's hitting its stride

A2:
This is your moment now
Oh gotta ahold of yourself
I'm so used to getting love
How much more giving's enough?

B2:
Every joke you make
And breath you take
Like candles on a cake
I will twirl and jump
And hand you my paw
To warm you up

C2:
Hearts beating as one
I'll kickstart the engine, make it run for miles
A joy that never fails
That never loses integrity
Take it for a whirl
And not even gravity will pull you down
Believe, reach for the sky
No mountain's too high
Your future begins, go for a spin

C3:
There's nothing to hide
If joy and forgiveness you are living by
Don't know if you don't try
If I'm a puppet who's puppeteering
You and me?
No one, it's your own responsibility
There are no strings attached, so hold nothing back
Cause love is the way, stay on the track

.
Growing up, I was like an eaglet well protected in its nest. Every day the eaglet was tenderly nurtured, waiting for food to come its way.
.
All around it were the elders. They are comparable to my parents, uncles and aunties, who filled my childhood with unconditional love and care, as well as valuable life lessons.
.
Day by day, the eaglet grew stronger. As feathers grew all over its wings, it took flight.
.
Now the day has come for the eaglet to soar high in the sky, with its wings spread wide. Still, it will look back at the nest, full of gratitude for those who helped nurture it through to maturity.

——————————————————————————

【Nest】

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
A land of shadows, devoid of smiles
The only comfort was me, myself and I
What kind of life awaits me
A curse or sanctuary
Garden of plenty, where I am trapped no more?

B1:
Feel the sting of the morning on my skin
Though I screamed I couldn’t breathe
How I wished with every fiber to crawl back in that shell
Felt your wings envelop me
It’s okay it’s okay
Suddenly I was safe, in you

A2:
Little by little
I’m not so little
Am I a riddle
That isn’t broken still?

Whenever I am afraid
Of what goes bump in the night
Your loving whisper
Just makes it all right

B2:
Every day you awake at crack of dawn
So our song lives on
In unison, your voices all become like one
A gift under the sun
No expectations
If only I could sing your tunes

B3:
Please forgive all my foolishness and strife
My dreams felt so ripe for the taking,
Yet somehow I fell flat on my face
I have grown because of pain
Learned from mistakes
Now I know what to choose, what to do

B4:
I have lied I have held on to my wrongs
From the moment I was born
I was torn between a life of giving
Or be a thorn

It’s a journey of the rose
Cause of you I chose
Every day to be changed anew

A3 last phrase:
It’s past my curfew
The stars are new
This nest of courage
Will always lead me
To the truth

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Once there lived a man whose touch was gold
At the top, he sealed his heart behind
stone

B1:
Woah, oh oh oh
High and mighty
Woah, oh oh oh
Feasting daily
Doomed eternally

A2:
At the gates, a beggar Lazarus
Lived off what the rich man dropped from his
Palace

B2:
Woah, oh oh oh
Poor and sickly
Woah, oh oh oh
Dogs took pity
Only God could see

A3:
Time had come for both of them to die
Angels carried Lazarus to Abram's side

B3:
Woah, oh oh oh
Final weighing
Woah, oh oh oh
One was smiling
One was burning

B+1:
Abraham, oh Abraham
Cried the rich man
Spare me from this agony
Please, I beg you
Anything, I'll do

C:
Purple linens were your gods
A life of goodness you forgot
Wealth you sought, death you wrought
Wear the furnace as your crown

B+2:
Rise O' rise from your nightmare
There's still time to escape eternal fire
Hope is near, can you hear?

B+3:
Revelations in the flesh
Reaching for you
Don't you ever let it go
hold it close, heed the call,
His anointing
Rising up like
Smoke

Miracle

Where is happiness?
.
It's actually simple to find. True happiness comes the very moment you feel content with and grateful for what you have.
.
It has nothing to do with how much wealth you have, or what material possessions you own. Instead of coming from without, happiness comes from within.
.
Reflective of this idea, this song tells of a little girl who comes from an impoverished family.
.
She doesn't have much in life, but she finds happiness at a carnival just enjoying the presence of her mother. What starts as an ordinary visit however morphs into a miraculous experience as the carnival prepares for her an exclusive performance, turning her into a fairy-tale princess.
.
The secret to happiness is as simple as this. Enjoy what appears to be the little things in life and guess what? You will see miracles all around you.

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Ring 'round the Rosie
Try you can't catch me
Again and again
Until the sun sets

Prancing with ponies
Your laugh reminds me
Indeed there is still hope left

B1:
Darling now
You wait right here

Blankets and water
Some food and warm showers
A nice soft bed

Momma's gonna go and find us
a castle
To rest our heads

A2:
Why the long face?
Give me a clue
To see how to help
To see what to do

Oh little princess,
Your pretty dress
Means fairy tales exist

B2:
Have a seat
And breathe it in

Biscuits and gravy
All things that are savory
With a band

Comic book heroes
All over the planet
To shake your hand

B3:
Take a bow
You superstar
Upon this carousel that can
Fulfill every miracle

Stories for days and enough for a lifetime
Of show and tell

A3:
Oh little one
You can't imagine
The feelings you touched
Hearts you moved

For this November
I remember
How we used to love

.
This is a song aimed at encouraging all young believers in our church. Many of you — symbolically known as Lion Cubs among us — may find this song easily relatable.
.
We all come from different backgrounds and our life experiences vary. We have our own challenges that no one else will ever really know.
.
That said, we share a common vision. Why don't we let go of our weaknesses and limitations? Why don't we forget what's behind and strain toward what's ahead? Why don't we embrace the future, pressing on toward the high calling of God?
.
The clock is ticking, so let's seize the day. Throwing ourselves into God's plans, we will soar on wings like eagles.
.
Take this song as our commitment to growing in faith. It's the best way we can ever repay God and Pastor Wind.

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Hey there mister
You can climb higher
Hey there sister
You can shine brighter

Oh oh can't you see
Life is wonderful
Cause ya got the strength to go on
Though come what may

B1:
Oh gotta go
It's now or never
It's time to take
A leap of faith

A2:
Shake it off
Got no time to spare
Make it happen
Whatever it takes

Lift up that heavy heart
And keep your head up high
Cause ya got a chance make it right
One last time

B2:
Oh anything
You ever wanted
Reality
Is yours

B3:
Oh onward now
It's time to follow
The voice inside that says
Dream on

🎵Song Lyrics🎵

A1:
Oh captain, my captain, what have we done
The storm that is before us, has only just begun

I thought that we had left behind the seas
It's taking quite a lot just to believe

B1:
Somewhere just beyond, the waves' a place we'll call our own
Long for yesterday, when life filled our bones

Each photograph, we have taken holds a lifetime of words
Whenever I'm unsure, your presence is
Enough

A2:
Adventurer, my leader, we've come this far
And soon the hairs upon my head, will start to fly away

I'm holding on, to every memory
That holds together our family

B2:
Somewhere just beyond the waves is where we will belong
Not a fantasy, it is written in stone

Life's so subtle, never know what kind of cards you are dealt
For soon the snow will melt, and all will be revealed

B3:
When I'm old and gray, I'll know just what a life it's been
There's so much to tell, where to even begin

Giving my all, is the only way that I can repay
So raise the sails again and we shall be, away
