Covington, The Rev. Burl F., age 81, passed away peacefully and joined the Lord July 1, 2014 at his home in Seymour, Tennessee. Burl was born in Sevier County on August 5, 1932. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. Burl was a member and pastor at Ruggles Ferry Missionary Baptist Church. He faithfully served God for 52 years as pastor of many churches. Burl was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Cordie Lee Covington; brother Lloyd Covington; and stepson Tony Satterfield. He is survived by wife Nancy; son Melvin and wife Myrna; daughter Charlotte and husband Larry; son Jimmy and wife Anne; son Chris and wife Kathy; daughter Regina and husband Jack; stepdaughter Dianna and husband Kevin; stepdaughter Donna; stepson Mike and wife Becky; sisters Lula Mae and Wanda. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday at Ruggles Ferry Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Whitson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30 AM to go in procession to East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, for an 11:30 AM interment service. Jackson, Clarence, age 81, of Medway, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2006 at Dayspring Healthcare and Rehab. He was born August 13, 1925 in Cookeville, TN, the son of Willie & Arminda Jackson. Clarence served in the US Army during WWII. He was retired from General Motors and was a minister for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Anna Ruth Jackson; daughter, Sandi (Jerry) McMahan of Medway; son, Michael (Carlotta) Jackson of Kentucky; grandchildren, Amy McMahan & Jason McMahan, both of Medway, Steven Jackson, and Angela Pearson; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Dixon & Geraldine Phipps of Cookeville, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Rev. Vernon Collins officiating. I was born five miles from Monterey, Tennessee, on a small farm, August 13, 1925. I was born again June 16, 1951, at 9:30 P.M. in a tent revival. On July 15, 1951, nineteen years ago, at 4:30 A.M., I said yes to the divine call from God to preach the gospel. Depending on God for all my messages — And He never fails to supply. God has healed me many times when at the point of death. Praise His name! I have reached thousands by radio, by the help of God. I am a full-time evangelist and assistant pastor of the Ashcraft First Church of God, where this album was recorded in one of our old-fashioned services like we usually have. When God sees fit to take me out of this world I don’t expect to die. I just expect to be transferred to a better land.
“I have no creed but Christ, no law but love, no book but the Bible, no preaching but the gospel.” (St. John 11:26)
I want to thank all the Ashcraft singers for so wonderfully donating their fine talent for this, my first album. In addition to the two groups, I was real fortunate to have Sister Lois Taylor, Brother Les Durham, and Brother Junior Brown helping in the group singing.
We already have victory to report. After we were finished recording this album, an altar call was given and a precious soul found its way back to the Lord. We hope this is just the beginning of a big success for the Lord.

LIVINGSTON, Rev. Norman L. age 78 went home to be with the Lord from Kettering Memorial Hospital on Friday April 15, 2011. Pastor Livingston was born October 25, 1932 in Livingston (Overton County), TN He and his wife Velma (Looper) Livingston moved to Dayton, OH in July, 1950. Preceeded in death by his father and mother, Billie Lee and Gertrude (Qualls) Livingston. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Velma (Looper) Livingston. Norman and Velma were married in Rossville, GA on May 6, 1950. Also survived by 3 daughters and 1 son. Daughter, Deborah (Livingston) and Roy Agee. Daughter Angela (Livingston) and Rick Dixon. Pastor and Founder of the West Dayton Free Will Baptist Church, 4711 Blueberry Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. This is my first sermon on an album. I was led by the Lord to make this album. We pray and trust in the Lord that the sermon and songs will be a blessing to everyone, and that it will lead some lost soul to Christ.
I was born in Overton County, Tennessee. I am the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Livingston of Rickman, Tennessee. In May of 1950, I married Velma Looper, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Joe Looper also of Overton County, Tennessee. We now have three daughters and one son: Debbie 15, Angela 10, Norma Gayle 8, and Timothy Lee 3.
I was converted in a Revival Meeting in August of 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, where Rev. Carson Whitaker was the Evangelist. I was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1955. In 1958 we founded the Church that I have been Pastor of since then. Starting my ninth year as Pastor, I have preached numbers of Revival Meetings in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We have witnessed many souls turning to the Lord. Please remember my family and I in your prayers.
I have started my 6th year in Radio Ministry.
