Episode 5 Joy: Joy is something everyone longs for, but sometimes it's difficult to find. Not every day is joyful, so how can we choose joy even on the hard days. Doc and Mystie talk about times when their everyday lives lacked joy and how they began to create their own even when it wasn't easy. The conscious choice of finding some joy in every day brings more days with joy in them.

Episode 6 Maintenance: Like anything in life, our cars, home, relationships, our emotions need regular check-ups, check-ins, and maintenance. How do we keep up the things that bring joy when there's so much life happening all the time? Doc and Mystie talk about how they maintain balance and continue to accept growth as it comes. By leaning into emotions, accepting things as they arise, and making conscious choices, we can find some joy in each of our days.

Episode 4 Acceptance: How do we accept the unacceptable and thrive anyway? To thrive, we have first to accept our trauma and who we are. Doc and Mystie talk about finding the resilience to thrive. People aren't simply born resilient--it is a process. We dive into our acceptance processes and how the trauma we experience can push us towards our purpose once we accept it.

Episode 3 Lean into it: Our feelings are our feelings. Have you ever felt shame over your emotions? We all have various emotions about different life events, and sometimes they linger a little too long. Doc and Mystie explain how leaning into it can help overcome what that it looks like in our everyday lives.

You've heard the term "Hot Mic"? Well Mystie and Doc had a hot mic in the studio and the conversation that they captured is truly the essence of why these two make such an incredible podcasting team. They are authentic. They are vulnerable. They are real. This hot mic became an unintentional episode to give listeners another glimpse into who these two are!

Episode 2 You don't look like what you have been through: My father is a sociopath. Mystie revisits the trauma she endured as the child of a sociopath. Doc and Mystie explore how having a parent with mental illness affects children and family members. Today as a happy wife and mother it’s hard to believe Mystie has been through what she has. Episode 1: You don't look like what you've been through: Coming out and overcoming family and community rejection, Doc revisits the trauma she experienced when she came out as a young teenager in a small South Georgia town. Now, as a founder and CEO of a thriving non-profit organization, it is difficult to believe Doc has been through what she has. Doc and Mystie take a deep dive into how she turned her pain into purpose and became who she is today.

This season is a little different than our last. Through this season Doc and Mystie describe how they took back their own lives after living through severe trauma. Season two is all about how to turn your trauma into true living. We allow ourselves to be vulnerable with you about how we navigated the process that brought back balance and joy to our lives even when we are faced with seemingly impossible obstacles. You too can be empowered and take back your life! Join us on this journey as we all heal together.

Mystie and I decided to travel to Callaway Gardens together one day after the attack on the US Capitol. I was emotionally spent-actually, we both were. We have sat on this episode for five months and each month, we debated on should we or shouldn't we release it.
We are releasing this episode as our final episode of our first season because just like there are so many emotions unresolved in this world, we ended this episode with more questions than answers. But one thing is certain, there will be a Season 2 of the Back 2Us Show Rebooted. We will be back with more topics and sometimes a few surprise guests! So stay tuned. Stay woke.
