Backdoor Cut

We're back in the studio this week! Discussing what's going wrong in Portland, the 76ers overly clunky offense, Anthony Davis' revival of the Lakers, and how great the Phoenix Suns are!?

The dust has settled on the NBA's first week, and low and behold, there's been some surprises. Tune in to find out which teams have exceeded expectations, and which have bitterly, bitterly disappointed.

We've run through the West, and now it's time to break down the East. Part 2 of the Backdoor Cut 'Over/Under' Special.

Backdoor Cut is back! Just in time for the regular season, the show returns with probably our favourite episode for each year, the 'Over/Under' special. First up, the West.

On the agenda this week, Jake & Josh chat:

- The whole Mike Scott/Philadelphia Eagles Tailgate incident.

- Why the Grizzlies obviously want to keep a hold of Iguodala for a little while longer.

- The NBA's bizarre decision to ban ninja-style headbands.

- Jake's experience meeting Jayson Tatum's mum and son, Deuce.

- FIBA World Cup recap (and praise!)

Team USA are touring Australia and Backdoor Cut is hyped! After a quick breakdown of the game in Melbourne, its seating arrangement and potential ramifications for this upcoming season - the boys hook straight into why Dwight Howard to the Lakers is a bad idea, and the great Devin Booker debate of 2019.

The game has changed so dramatically from era to era, however the constant through this has always been the presence of great players. The question is, when comparing some of NBA history's very greatest against each other, who comes out on top? On this episode, the aura of Kawhi Leonard versus the legacy of Scottie Pippen.

SPECIAL FEAUTRE: Alexis Brassil spends most of his days in Sydney working as a Media Specialist. Media however, is but one of Lex's many passion points. This week, Josh & Jake have the absolute pleasure of getting some time with Lex to ask him a few questions about something else which has long fascinated him - Basketball, and specifically, the Los Angeles Lakers.

This week the boys discuss the recent video evidence of Ben Simmons practising a jump shot, why NBA players are so quick to back out of FIBA National duties, and which teams are currently rocking the best young cores in the league.

Now that the NBA landscape has shifted into a beast almost entirely unrecognisable, the boys got pretty excited this week, and thought it was about time someone predicted who's going to be playing in the 2020 NBA Finals.
