"Code Red: Period" is a new initiative by the Junior League of Williamsport to raise funds that will provide supplies for middle and high school age girls in Central PA who face "period poverty," when the cost of sanitary items is more than they or their families can afford, not to mention the anxiety teens can experience if they are unprepared. “Remote Outpost” is an upcoming book written by local author and veteran, Travis Harman, about his experiences as a soldier in Afghanistan.  To fulfill his master’s degree requirements at Wilkes College, he will teach a creative writing group for Veterans and their spouses that is set to start February 5th at the Williamsport Vet Center.
