Adam B. Coleman is an author who writes about fatherlessness, childhood abandonment, and masculinity. This episode we talk about his journey of feeling disillusioned by the Democratic Party and leaving it behind. We also dig in on the recent election results, including the racial de-alignment of the 2024 election, immigration, and Coleman's op-ed for the NY Post about the Daniel Penny case.
Lee Fang joins the show to discuss his work as an investigative reporter at The Intercept (founded by Glenn Greenwald), how he was publicly cancelled by a colleague & how this lead to him eventually leaving and becoming an Independent reporter. We also dish on the donors and the power they exert over the party in terms of prioritizing identity politics over all else, including the purging of those in leadership positions. We also deconstruct the consultant class and how they’ve majorly contributed to the downfall of the democrats, plus much more.

On this week's pod episode I'll be speaking to someone who is still a Democrat, a brave one in fact, who helped start the group Crypto4Kamala to support Harris' run for President. A veteran, and former communications strategist for Governor Andrew Cuomo, Schweitzer also ran for US Senate against Kristen Gillibrand in the Dem primary. For the first time publicly, he bravely reveals to me his disappointments with Democratic Party, and what it was like behind the scenes as the leader of Crypto4Kamala.

This week, Evan welcomes Dr. M.C. Armstrong to the show! M.C. is a former Democrat, turned RFK Jr. supporter, now independent, who voted for Donald Trump in 2024. He is a writing professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He has written three books. His latest, "Veteran Activism and The Global War On Terror" offers fascinating insights into how American military veterans came to re-conceptualize ideas of patriotic duty and homeland after 9/11.
Julia Steinberg joins Evan Barker for the very first episode of Not Going Back. Julia is the editor in chief at the Stanford Review, the school’s conservative newspaper. However, only four years ago, Julia was a communist who worked at a commune. She is also a former intern for The Free Press. Julia and Evan met at the Democratic National Convention in 2024, where Julia interviewed Evan. It was to Julia, that Evan first ever publicly voiced her unhappiness with the Democratic Party. This is the first face-to-face conversation they’ve had since that interview.
