Finally, to coincide with the release of the latest instalment of the hit video game series we review the 2005 adaptation, Doom:

Controversial computer game Doom, released in 1993, made shooting demons in the face a whole lot of fun. 12 years later, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Karl “The Dredd” Urban in a live action film where they to visit Mars and shoot demons in the face. Will the cast smell what Dwayne is cooking? Can Urban feel a chill in his bones? And does Dexter Fletcher use his Press Gang voice?

We get our asses to Mars to see whether it lays a Smackdown, or if it should have a total recall.

Returning for a 6th season, it’s the television cultural phenomenon that can’t be ignored. No, not Teen Wolf. It is, of course, Game of Thrones. The HBO show that adds bloodletting and boobs to Lord of the Rings. Following on from a slightly more subdued year in 2015, and no longer slave to George RR Martin’s novels, will this year mark a return to form? After the mega-smash hit Men in Black, superstar Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld reteamed for this revisionist western. Unforgiven this ain’t, though, as Clint Eastwood’s movie didn’t have a giant steam powered spider. Will Kevin Kline stick a chip up someone’s nose? Who persuaded Salma Hayek to wear open backed long johns? And will Will remain fresh in desert?
