We've all been playing some game, even a great or classic one, and thought "why didn't they do this better?" or "why did they include this game mechanic, couldn't this have been improved?" The crazy thing is, even though gaming has been around for so many years, many bad game mechanics still persist! We go through some of the worst game mechanics we can think of and whether they're still appropriate or have a place or not in any circumstance.
