  • Why You Need a Healthy Amount of Guilt

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice: we're talking about two very different dilemmas that both come down to one question: when should you feel guilty... and when absolutely shouldn't you?

First, we discuss whether it's wrong to stop seeing a barber after a major price increase—and why awkward conversations don't automatically mean you did something wrong.

Then we dive into a much more serious situation involving a roommate who secretly transferred nearly $1,000 of tuition money out of a bank account. We talk about entitlement, trust, roommate drama, digital security, and why sometimes the biggest problem isn't the person who did something wrong—it's the people making excuses for them.

    Our Biggest Takeaways:

    • You don't owe someone your business if their services no longer fit your budget.
    • Most embarrassing moments are far more memorable to you than to everyone else.
    • Never access or use someone else's money without explicit permission.
    • Lock your devices and enable banking notifications—it only takes one bad decision from someone else.
    • Standing up for yourself isn't "making things awkward."

  • Get the Cat, Dump the Fiancé

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice: we're recording together for the first time (and getting snuggled by a cat). A woman wants a cat, but her fiancé suddenly says no—because he thinks she'll love the pet more than him. A mystery emu is loose in Louisiana, running 31 miles per hour. We discuss red flags, pet ownership, and why jealousy of a pet is never a good sign.

As always, real dilemmas, common sense, and one very adorable cat.

    Stories discussed:

The Jealous Fiancé: A woman in her mid-30s has always wanted a cat. Her fiancé was fine with it until she actually wanted to get one. Now he's worried she'll love the cat more than him. Is he a red flag?

The Missing Emu: Police in Louisiana were called to help find a mystery emu wandering the city streets. An emu can run up to 31 miles per hour. How do you lose a bird that fast?

  • This Bridezilla's Ego is the Size of the Moon!

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice:

A woman wore white to her sister's birthday dinner party and got uninvited from her brother's wedding. We discuss whether she's the jerk, or if the bride-to-be needs a reality check.

Plus, NASA plans to have a lunar base by 2029, and we debate whether we'd actually visit the moon if we could afford it.

Spoiler: Anya would die happy in space. Jen would rather stay on Earth.

As always, real dilemmas, common sense, and two people with very different opinions about outer space.

    Stories discussed:

The White Dress Dilemma: A woman wears white to her sister's birthday dinner party (not a wedding). Her brother and his fiancée get upset and uninvite her from the wedding. Is she wrong, or is the bride-to-be being controlling?

NASA's Lunar Base: By 2029, NASA, SpaceX, and Amazon want to establish a moon base with rovers, landers, and multiple missions. Would you visit if you could afford it? China is also planning a lunar mission by 2030, so it's a space race.

As always, real dilemmas, common sense, and two people who understand that not all relationships last forever.

The Friendship Fade: A woman of 10 years with her best friends realizes she's become the third wheel. When is it time to quietly exit a friendship? Do you need closure, or can you just... let go?

    Key Takeaways:

Not all friendships are meant to last forever—and that's okay

  • Mother's Day: Weaponized Grief, Bad In-Laws & the Mac and Cheese Heist

Mother's Day should be simple. It is not.

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice: a husband refuses to celebrate Mother's Day because of a childhood tragedy — but somehow Father's Day is fine. A pregnant daughter-in-law gets left out of the holiday by her mother-in-law entirely. And a former Chick-fil-A employee allegedly stole $80,000 from his employer... in mac & cheese transactions. We did the math. It's a lot of mac & cheese.

As always, real dilemmas, common sense, and two people who now really want Mac & Cheese.

  • Name Thief, Walking Dates & Who Started It

Some battles aren't worth fighting. Some absolutely are. The trick is knowing which is which.

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice: a sister steals a baby name (we have thoughts). Three different men suggest walking dates — is that lazy or just… a walk? And a Time Magazine article lists eight signs you're the problem in every argument. We read it. We related to it. We feel personally attacked.

As always, bad situations, common sense, and two people who like to win.

  • Intrusive Thoughts, Splitting Bills 50/50, and the Modern Marvels of Red Light Therapy

Life is full of battles; some are worth fighting and some are not. What do you compromise on?

This week on Bad Life, Good Advice we are talking about what happens when adults share a roof ... and someone just can't take it anymore.

First, a mom destroys her son's computer with a hammer (we have our own opinions on THAT). A girlfriend asked her higher-paid boyfriend to split the bills differently. (Jen's husband weighs in, and isn't very nice . . .)

And Anya explains Red Light Therapy, so we can discuss . . .why would anyone do this? Is it even worth it?

As always, it's a mix of questionable decisions, real-life applications and figuring things out as we go.

  • Anya Explains Catfishing to Jen (How does she know so much?)

She catfished him with her own friend's photos . . .and then brought that friend to the date.

Somehow, that's not even the most unhinged part of this episode.

We kick things off with a crazy catfishing story where a guy thinks he's meeting one girl, but when he shows up, she has no idea who he is. But her friend knows . . .Of course, this tale is somehow relatable to Anya's life experience. Sit back and we can all learn how to . . .well, either be a better person or a worse person. Your call, really.

Then we get into some friendship drama: two friends take a trip to see a concert, but they don't invite their third friend. Was it the right thing to do? Were they just avoiding hard conversations and awkward guilt trips?

From there we pivot into money, generosity, and financial responsibility. A caller to the Dave Ramsey show was sad she couldn't get tickets to see the Backstreet Boys . . .but Kevin Richardson wasn't going to let that happen!

We swoon over Kevin, just a bit, then we ask:

-Should you go to Vegas (or any vacation) while you're in debt?

-When is it ok to spend on fun?

-And at what point should you start being generous with your money?

We wrap up by addressing a commenter's concern that we did not take the puppy story from last episode seriously enough.

As always, it's a mix of questionable decisions, real-life applications and figuring things out as we go.

  • Drop the Baggage!

Sometimes the problem isn’t what happened—it’s that no one read the fine print.

In this episode, we break down three dilemmas where expectations and reality are… not aligned.

First, a woman is struggling after her boyfriend’s dramatic fitness transformation. Is it about attraction, insecurity, or the time he’s now spending at the gym? We unpack both sides—and why this might not be about muscles at all.

Then, a favor gone wrong: what was supposed to be a simple puppy-sitting gig turns into a full-on meltdown. Now she’s dodging her friend entirely. We talk boundaries, resentment, and how to avoid becoming a reluctant dog parent.

Finally, we discuss a growing trend in Greyhaven, Ireland, where families are making a collective pledge to delay giving kids smartphones until age 12.

Let's talk! Did any of these stories strike a chord? DM or comment to let us know.
