Our condolences go out to the family of Hayden Panettiere.

Anime is no stranger to the video game adaptation. Pokemon. Persona. Ace Attorney. Heck, even Steins;Gate started off as a light novel before becoming a critically acclaimed anime series. Now, another beloved franchise is joining the anime family, but with a potentially interesting twist.

Yes, this past weekend at D23, Kingdom Hearts the anime was finally announced! However, little to no details were provided to the fans leaving many, like Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage, to ponder over what the anime will be all about. So, assemble your favorite characters and select your preferred keyblade as we dive into the Kingdom Hearts anime news!

Well, we'd like to say we're surprised by the online anime community and their opinions towards Mushoku Tensei, but we're not. Each and every season, we are treated to the same arguments, the same rhetoric, and the same vitriol anime fans have towards Mushoku Tensei. The. Exact. Same. Now, do we hear these opinion pieces constantly? No. Do we hear new perspectives on fans of the show are just as disgusting as the anime itself? No. It's the same opinion fans regurgitate between one another over and over and over again... So, in the spirit of open discussions, MagicallyAverage and Frankfurtter open the floor on the topic once again. An invite, if you will, to converse at lengths about the anime known as Mushoku Tensei. Oh, and the bakabois do a bit of venting as well. Buckle up, this is going to be one hell of a bumpy ride.

The Summer convention season is still swinging big, from Anime Expo taking place at the beginning of July to San Diego Comic Con just having wrapped up this past weekend. With all of these major conventions happening in a short time frame there surely can't be many new or exciting announcements for the anime and manga fandoms, right? WRONG! SDCC surprised many with an enormous amount of manga announcements from publishers big and small across Japan! In fact, more manga publishers were present and presenting at SDCC than had been in attendance at Anime Expo! Crazy, right?! With all of the announcements over the weekend, Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage decided to breakdown the many announcements made from the publishers and give their thoughts on the current trends they are seeing in the manga market!

Crunchyroll. What was once a gateway for anime fans around the World to enjoy the medium they love so much has now transformed into something none of us ever wanted to see... Us fans always held on to hope that Crunchyroll would look out for us and not be seduced by corporate greed, settling on maximizing its profits rather than focusing on the entrustment of its fans. Now, its hard to ignore Crunchyroll's corporate gluttony as it continuously makes decisions that harm its fans all for the sake of higher earnings. This episode, Frankfurtter, MagicallyAverage, and our special guest, BeSteveBrown, discuss the current state of Crunchyroll, from the Anime Awards to the imprisonment of its online store behind its subscription model, and everything else in between.

Happy Birthday, MAPPA! Over the last 15 years you've brough us some amazing series, from Yuri on Ice to Attack on Titan and plenty more iconic anime in between. The name 'MAPPA' is synonymous with high-quality animation and stellar design, breathing life into every series that you put on our screens each and every season. And now, in celebration of this special day, MAPPA released a handful of new trailers for series coming out over the next few years! We got a sneak peak at Part 2 of the Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen, a chaotic montage of scenes from the upcoming Assassins Arc Chainsaw Man, and a trailer featuring drug-addicted lolis committing crimes in their poverty-stricken town! Yup, you heard me right! The studio that brough you series such as Banana Fish and Terror in Resonance is producing a new series titled JIMOTO SAIKO! which, and this is no joke, features lolis doing fentanyl... I wish I was kidding... So, tune in to hear Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage's recap of the trailer announcements and their thoughts on the upcoming MAPPA lineup.

Business, business, business! Numbers, numbers... Is this working? Better yet, does anyone get this reference? Never mind... Yes! This week, Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage are talking business! Specifically, the bakabois are recapping the latest Association of Japanese Animations symposium where industry leaders talk about the current state of anime. The topics included investing in the current labor market, capitalizing on overseas market demand, and improving marketing strategies. Even in a competitive market, it's refreshing to know that the leading production studios are collaborating with one another in an effort to improve the overall industry and create a thriving market for years to come. Can't say much for Crunchyroll on this front as they are continuing their focus on the event being hosted ahead of AnimeNYC where industry leaders are attending to simply stroke Crunchyroll's massive ego... Hooray.

And the tradition continues! Yes, each and every quarter the bakabois grab their favorite bubbly drink, sit in their orthopedic chairs (cause they're old and their backs hurt), and scroll through livechart.me to preview the upcoming season of anime. And, like always, they confident proclaim that they will watch 10, 15, 20 anime that are set to air, only to forget half of them and fall behind on their watchlist instantly. But, nevertheless, Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage still perform this ritual of previewing and rating the upcoming anime season. While the Summer season is just like any other, let me tell you... It. Is. STACKED! This could very well be one of the best single seasons of anime to air in quite some time. But which series make the watchlist and which are avoided like a bad sunburn? Tune in to find out!
