This evening we discuss a silly mistake Bilaam made that even a child wouldn't make, as a result of his personal bias, and a remarkable story about Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin from Professor Shneyer Leiman, on how we can avoid this with a sensitive confidant to keep us on track. We explore the path towards earning Bilaam's praise of a good home (Mah Tovu Ohalechah Yaakov...) starting with the criteria we use to choose a mate. We explain the surprising reason why Eliyahu HaNavi (Elijah the Prophet) is present at every Brit, and why we continue to mourn the destruction of the Temple, though that event is 2000 years old - because it is not gone - with a haunting story from my grandfather, Sam Margolin, and a powerful story of a wondrous clock.
