Job was severely tested by God, losing everything, goods, family and even health, but he never lost his trust in God.

“Naked I came into the world and naked I will leave it”.

Finally, disfiguring creation is akin to disfiguring God. Hear ye the cry of the Earth and the cry of the Poor!

 

We have come to realise that current “disasters” in terms of storms, fires, floods and even the pandemic are not “acts of God” but are largely results of our own mistreatment of our home, our planet Earth.

The feast of St. Matthew, tax collector and Apostle. Jesus said “I came to call sinners, not the virtuous”.

God chose the Jewish people to be an example to other peoples in the world of the greatness and goodness of God.

We today must also be an example to others of that same God.

 

When did you place your full trust in God? Was it from your earliest memory of God, was it recently or perhaps in a time of trouble?

What is the reward for turning to God? Is the reward an occasion for rejoicing or for envy? Is the reward for turning to God the same for everyone? Do you envy the relationship other people have with God? My friend, in prayer, in conversation with Him, God elevates us to His level, in a beautifully, personal way

We enrich each other by sharing our own, personal experience of God, with as many people as possible.

In these time, where can God be found? God is the creator of all things. His footprints can be found in the silence and beauty of nature, as expressed by many poets. But, how should we respond when we discover God in nature? Do we “take off our shoes” and revere God or do we simply gorge on nature’s earthly pleasures?
