Founded mid-earthquake in 2006 by singer Rebecca Garza-Bortman and bassist Chad Thornton, San Francisco’s My First Earthquake delivers a bold, synth-riddled indie electro-pop sound. Channelling the energetic, multi-instrumental jumpiness of Of Montreal and the sharp hooks of The Kills, the band became a staple of the Bay Area music scene.
