Ball Chat With Kenny

The final chapter of our NBBF Extraordinary Congress review.

In this edition of Ball Chat With Kenny, host Kenny Bamidele Ayomide, alongside co-host @therealbuckets, sits down with former D’Tigers coach and Comets Basketball Club president Coach Ayodele Bakare to take a closer look at the September 25 NBBF Extraordinary Congress in Yola.

Bakare discusses his concerns about the constitutional basis of the Congress, the process of convening the meeting, delegate issues, financial approvals, the role of the National Sports Commission and what the disputed issues could mean for the October 15 NBBF election.

The NBBF says the Yola Congress was validly conducted and approved the electoral roadmap, including the October 15 elective congress. Bakare has publicly challenged aspects of the process and raised questions about constitutional compliance.

This is Part 3 — the final chapter.

Who should lead Nigerian basketball?

With the Nigeria Basketball Federation election set for October 15, 2026, the debate over the future direction of the game is heating up.

In this special X Space, host Kenny Bamidele, alongside co-host @therealbuckets, brings together representatives of the two leading camps:

🏀 Wahab Yakubu — representing Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi
🏀 Oni Guarantor — representing Olumide Oyedeji

The conversation goes beyond campaign slogans to examine the issues that matter to Nigerian basketball: leadership, grassroots development, domestic leagues, national teams, player welfare, sponsorship, funding, governance, infrastructure and the future of the game.

What does each candidate bring to the table?
What needs to change?
And, most importantly, how will they actually get it done?

No noise. Just the argument.
