The thing about Easter Sunday is that Jesus' tomb was empty.  After being crucified, Jesus died and was laid in a rock tomb.  Three days later, His body was nowhere to be found.  How best to explain this?  What were some of the suggested explanations Luke included in his account? 

The day Jesus died was filled with drama.  There was conscription, prophecy, sharp words, forgiveness, abuse, promise and even conversion.  What a day!  What was going on? 

I remember once, seeing a giant Redwood... fallen in a forest in California.  It was sad seeing such a majestic specimen lying on the ground.  Similarly, it is a sad thing when a leader fails.  Such was the experience of Peter.  How could someone so confident and devoted to Jesus Christ, turn away from Him?  Could it happen to you?

Jesus has shown us a fresh new way to lead, as those who live to serve as He did.  This pathway is very different than the one the world around us promotes.  We will have to stay close to our guide, following His example, so we discover this unusual pathway to greatness.  There is an amazing amount of room at the top. 

Meals matter.  Canadians have favourite meals like Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas.  And there is also a famous Christian meal, the Lord's Supper.  What's the story behind this meal?

Jesus was challenged by the religious establishment about the reality of the resurrection.  We can learn from Him in how He answered their challenge with insight and boldness, while also providing us a glimpse of heaven.

Who gave you permission to do that?  We have protocols to follow and you never came to us.  This may be what you hear at work from time to time.  Sometimes a direct answer is not the best answer, as you will find out from the example of Jesus' life.

There is no small amount of energy spent in our world on gaining access.  Perhaps you've seen someone with an 'All Access Pass' at a concert you've gone to?  Maybe you've felt the bitter exclusion (or delicious inclusion) to some secret inner circle?  As we read Luke 19:45-48, we see Jesus passionate about access to God.  Who can approach God?  The Israelite scribes and teachers of the law certainly had very concrete ideas on this subject.  What was Jesus' perspective on who had access to God?  What does access to God look like today, in our lives?    

Is it possible for those who've experienced God's kindness to resent God's displaying similar kindness to others?  Jonah sure does.  In the final chapter of the story, the LORD tries to rehabilitate this cranky prophet.  Was he successful?
