When I was still a child, I heard this saying:
Whatever you own but you don’t use, sooner or later you will lose it.
Be it something tangible like a book, a piece of equipment; or not, like a relationship or a cognitive function, the role of anything in our life will fade away as we neglect it. Whenever I look around and realize, in pain, that I am losing something, a skill that I spent lots of time to develop when I was younger, some of my favorite stuff, or even friends those I shared sweetest memories with but now rarely contact, I just feel that the simple saying above is ringing true.
