We know we are becoming, but who are we becoming? This week, we’ll look at seven characteristics that epitomize a mature disciple of Jesus Christ.

The Gospels present us with a simple, straightforward process for making disciples. Jesus modeled this process through His interactions with His followers.

Our study of discipleship continues with an in-depth look at the beginning of discipleship, the calling issued by Christ to His disciples, as well as the considerations involved and the different conclusions to be reached.

This week we will be introducing our study of discipleship by looking at some of the possible areas of confusion related to the topic, including the paradoxes associated with sanctification, spirituality and sameness.

In John 10:10, Jesus said: “…I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” How much of the abundant life are you actually experiencing?

Corporate prayer is necessary, but private prayer is a necessity. It’s we get alone with God that the focus turns from us to Him. Matthew 6:6.

Prayer is the act of seeing reality from God’s point of view. It has less to do with getting things from God than getting to know God. Colossians 1:9-12.

God wants to bless us, but He requires our surrender. He wants us to give ourselves to Him, but we prefer blessing without surrender. So did Jacob. Genesis 32.

Surrender is NOT a dirty word. While it may conjure up images of defeat and resignation, it’s actually the key to power, peace, and God’s blessings. Romans 12:1
