In this week's Hump Day Q'n'A I discuss 2 questions.
1. Should I/Do I need to train with bands?
I discuss:
- Why people use bands and chains.
- The Westside Method for band resistance training, specifically the dynamic effort method sets, reps and percentages.
- Do you actually need bands and chains to make great progress and what might potentially be a better approach for you at this time?
2. What are my thoughts on elevating the heels when it comes to squatting?
I discuss:
- The 2 key reasons, I believe, for elevating your heels.
- Why elevating your heels for more depth (unless you're a powerlifter) may not be the right reason.
- Why Ass-to-Grass is bullsh*t
- Why, as a Coach, just elevating the heels when technique work is needed is purely a cop-out and disservice to your client.
- Why, if you have a beautiful squat position already, you do not need to elevate your heels.
