Banish the blues –

Why blow a fuse?

Happy or morose,

The choice is yours.

Don’t tell me otherwise!

Who has time for cries?

It’s all up to you,

Do what you have to.

Keep the smile aglow,

A frown is your foe;

The world’s not against you,

What’s your reason to rue?

A bad day in the office,

A rock with a crevice,

Nothing’s ever whole –

Have you never missed a goal?

The boos and the cheers,

Your hopes and your fears,

All part of living;

You must be forgiving.

Don’t be hard on yourself,

Be your own greatest fan,

No bigger power or pelf,

Than being your own man.

Why must we throw happiness away?

What a shame, what a waste of play!
