My first ever composition

It's always a good challenge to learn from a Clark Kessinger recording. The tune reminds me of Soldier's Joy and The Year of Jubilo.

A tune that I composed, that reminded me of the sounds of both birds.

From the Balfa Brothers Cajun style, the tune is, in English, The Old Wagon -- a nice dance tune. I've liked Cajun music for a long time, though we don't get many presentations on Tune of the Week, so an enjoyable learning journey for me this week. Cajun music apparently doesn't have much clawhammer banjo yet, but it's not too late to add some in!

The curious part of Chorus Jig is why it's named a jig, but isn't in jig time. It's an old tune and apparently jig used to be the name of a dance. The tune modulates, giving it more interest, and to watch dancers, as linked in the TOTW discussion, they're certainly having fun.
