Sue Massek, of the Reel World String Band (other members: Bev Futrell (who kindly provided me all the words), Karen Jones and Elise Melrood), wrote this song, which I heard recently on Rich Kriby?s show "Old Kentucky Bound?

Bev told me that Sue had some friends in Cherokee, North Carolina. While the song may be about the Cherokee, there of many lines in the poetry of the lyrics that seem like Mother Earth is singing to us. She needs to replenish herself so that all plants and animals can have a sustainable life.

Interesting to get a Tune of the Week from the Shetland Islands, which is far from home even if you're from Scotland. Our TOTW presenter suggested a homesick sense in a couple of measures, but overall happiness in the rest of this dance tune.
