Finger picked on a newly crafted 11"walnut and pecan open back banjo in open D tuning d a f# d f#.

Two guitars, cajon, harmonica, vocals and banjo. Banjo and vocals by myself. Banjo (clawhammer): Deering Vega Nr. 2 Tubaphone openback with a Remo top-frosted head.

This is not based on the instrumental, but to create a lyrical fun song about a Hillbilly in love. In an early Rim Reeves style.

A try at the high lonesome sound.

Learned from my favorite old-time Alabama fiddler James Bryan, who learned it from another Alabama fiddler, Jim Cauthen, who learned it from another one, Henry Lee Hudson of Clarke County, who was taught the older fiddling styles of the 1800's, like that of his father, Joseph Hudson (b. 1860) and other family members.

Fiddle tune

Tunaday #303 - D variant tuning (aDGCE).

Hope all you Dads have an enjoyable time on this hopefully one and only quarantine Fathers Day.
