Banter with Builders

Banter with Builders welcomes our first-ever external guest: Klayton Kirkwood, Director of the Tucson Teen Challenge Men's Center! Klayton joins Alicia to share what brought him to the organization, reflect on the construction of the Men’s Center, and catch us up on life since the doors opened. It’s a conversation about meaningful work and the relationships that last long after the ribbon cutting.

In this musical episode of Banter with Builders, Kolton and Ruben talk dream Coachella lineups, walk-up songs for when they step onto a jobsite, and what it was like bringing Cornerstone’s Worship Center Expansion across the finish line. Plus, they share a few hilarious pet peeves along the way.

Back and better than ever! In this kickoff to the new year, we’re quizzing Lily on 2025 milestones, sharing the busy lineup of events coming up, and previewing our vision for the future of the podcast; plus a quick round of Keep It, Cut It, Create It to set the tone for what’s next.

In this episode, we pull back the curtain on the Dream Team — Kristin and Chris. From the projects they've tackled side by side to the way they instinctively collaborate, we explore what makes their partnership work so well. We chat about their go-to Taco Bell orders, play a round of “Who’s Most Likely…,” and hear what life and careers looked like before Concord. If you’ve ever wondered how two people can click so well on and off the jobsite — this is their blueprint.

In this episode of Banter with Builders, Kevin and Tom take us behind the scenes of the Saguaro Creek K-8 project — from the very first plans to First Day of School. Along the way, we dive into their early career stories, the paths that led them to their recent promotions, and of course, a few fun ice breakers to keep things lively!

We wrapped up Safety Week in May and Safety Month in June — so who better to feature on this month’s episode than our very own Safety team? Tune in as Ted, Mason, and Macie swap stories, share laughs, and dive into what’s still ahead as our brand-new internal Safety Department has been hitting the ground running. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the people driving our safety culture forward — and why that matters now more than ever.

In this episode of Banter with Builders, we're joined by Assistant Project Managers Alicia and Madisyn from our Tucson office. They share a behind-the-scenes look at their current projects, what it's like living in Tucson, and their day-to-day experiences as APMs. We wrap things up with a lighthearted game: matching some of our employee-owners to dog breeds — and the results are spot on.

Tune in to Episode 3 of Banter with Builders as Jorge and Stacey take you behind the scenes of our work in Mohave County—road trips and all! Plus, don’t miss their hilarious showdown in a “Guess That Girl Term” competition to celebrate Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Month.
