TC PODCAST W/ BANU

As a DJ and electronic music producer, Banu finds herself between music, sound art installations and research, using music as an artistic tool for activism. Growing up in South Eastern Turkey in the underground rave scene and currently based in Berlin, she specializes in composing with analog synthesizers that are versatile with a groovy bounce. Banu creates uncanny experiences in her live sets by using sound design as unique transitions that blur the lines between music and sound art. She believes in the political possibility of sound and music, which she utilizes as an empowerment tool for minority groups with an emphasis on BIPOC and LGBTQI+ communities.

*Special note for the mix: "I recorded the set in March 2026 and all tracks from female producers. It is very important for me to support and represent female producers because the female visibility in production is not getting enough attention. To show the diversity of the productions and gems I choose a variety of genres. It is a mix dedicated to all women in my life."
