Douglas Ogutu who resides in Nakuru, Kenya – is an award-winning artist, entrepreneur, and the founder of Dowe Music & Arts - an academy and a production studio. He offers training in music (instrumentation as well as singing) and arts, Entrepreneurial Skills, Writing, Design Thinking and Leadership. He organizes mentorship workshops through Art4Leadership programs in which young people are linked to potential employers, sponsors, colleagues as they get entertained through music and arts together with professional speeches. 

Being an innovative person, he has leveraged on the power of technology to keep his artistic, leadership and business endeavors going. This is through virtual trainings from his academy, collaborations with creatives within and outside the country as well as workshops and concerts where he is either invited or organizes to perform. ]

Currently, Douglas is the Participant Engagement Chair for the Kenya National Yali Alumni Chapter where he mobilizes the young people in taking part in socioeconomic projects and initiatives while spearheading the visibility amplification for the alumni.

Muhumuza is also the Founder of Imperial Junior Schools. He sits on USAID Uganda’s Youth Lead Advisory Board.

Muhumuza is a former Chairperson of the Young African Leaders Initiative - Uganda (YALI) and the current President of the U.S. Exchange Alumni Network. Muhumuza was the lead organizer of the inaugural U.S. Exchange Alumni Impact Awards sponsored by the U.S. Mission Uganda.

Furthermore, her role as an Alumni in Residence at Baobab has not only expanded her connections but has also exposed her to a vast network of Mastercard Scholars, providing her with abundant opportunities for personal and professional growth.

With over four years of freelancing experience, she has had the privilege of working with clients from more than 20 countries outside of Africa. Dorothy was part of the first cohort of the Babaob Alumni in Residence Fellowship, where she shared content about her journey as a Freelancer in Africa. Her passion and expertise in the field also led her to collaborate with Baobab to create the course "Freelancing in the Digital Economy." Dorothy is a proud Mastercard Foundation Alumna of Makerere University. When she's not crafting captivating copy for her clients, Dorothy loves to indulge in her wanderlust by travelling and exploring new places!

Imagine losing your sight in a blink of an eye. How would you cope with the sudden darkness? How would you navigate the world without seeing it? How would you overcome the challenges and prejudices that come with being visually impaired?

Eve Kibare knows the answers to these questions. She is a film producer, content creator, communication consultant and storyteller who lost her sight three years ago due to an illness. But she did not let that stop her from pursuing her dreams and passions.  

She started a YouTube channel – Blind Girl Experience - to highlight the experiences and challenges she faces as a blind person, with an aim to create awareness, change people’s perception on impairment and encourage integration between the abled and the disabled community. Her channel has gained thousands of subscribers and views, and she has been featured in several media outlets as a role model and advocate for the blind community.

Challenges come at different stages of our lives; offering different lessons that we can learn from. One challenge that we face is failure. How can we learn from failure? Listen to this episode to know that failure is not fatal. 

This episode is shared with Lucy Mwakaba who is an Education Professional, a qualified teacher with a BA. in Education from the Kenyatta University. She also has a MSc. in Education Management from Strathmore University. She enjoys teaching and imparting knowledge to both young and old generation and has had the opportunity to do so through various forums which were both formal and informal. 

Lucy is the Co- Founder and Program Manager of The Lead Child, an organization that trains 7 - 18-year- olds in Values, Leadership and Financial Literacy. The Organization’s main objectives are to develop ethical leaders and also spur an entrepreneurial spirit in children and young adults in order to address challenges brought about by a shortage of formal employment. 

 
Finally, Lucy has also worked as a Personal Coach. This she has done through focusing on the individual person and identifying underlying habits that affect their progress in life. She has worked at helping them discover their true value, source of motivation and passion and also the inner drive that would enable make positive shifts in their lives. 

Her belief is that the world becomes a better place when we live our lives selflessly and with an attitude of servant-hood towards our fellow man.

Cisco moved to Ghana as a refugee from Liberia during the Civil war but despite the challenges he faced, Cisco graduated as the best student in BSc Economics from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. Cisco is the Author of "Between her Womb and your Tomb" and "Cracking the empowerment Code". His goal is to support and inspire young people to excel.
