Baptists on SermonAudio

2026 Mt. Carmel Baptist Campmeeting Friday PM

September 26 - In just 15-20 minutes a day, you can listen to the entire Bible read through in a year, and/or watch the Bible verses on the screen. Each day, you will hear some of the New Testament, some of the Old Testament, and some of Psalms or Proverbs. You will read through Psalms and Proverbs twice in the year. Today's reading is Jeremiah 41-42; Romans 6; and Psalm 87. You can get through the entire Bible in a year listening to it on the way to and from work each day. The elderly with bad eyesight can now see the Bible verses in large print right on the screen. Little children, just learning how to read, can now read along by seeing and hearing each word pronounced. Imagine little children accomplishing something that many adults never do even once in their lifetimes--reading through the entire Bible. Get a free printed copy of the Bible Reading Schedule at LibertyGospelTracts.com. The Books are read in chronological order, which really helps you to understand the order that things happened. We offer free certificates at the end of the year, for those who read through the entire Bible. Just write to us to request one. May God bless you as you read through all that God has written for us.

On today's episode, Dr. Jim Townsley is in Norwalk, CT visiting Lighthouse Baptist Church for a church review and talks with Pastor Dan Keighen about ministering there in the town of Norwalk along with the surrounding area and the need for reaching lost souls on the Gold Coast of Connecticut.

This Bible study examines the paradox of persecution in the early church, demonstrating how the stoning of Stephen and the subsequent scattering of believers by Saul inadvertently fulfilled Jesus' command to witness in Judea and Samaria. The narrative shifts focus to Philip, who travels to Samaria to proclaim Christ, performing signs and wonders that result in widespread joy and belief among the Samaritans. The discussion highlights the theological significance of the Holy Spirit's arrival through the apostles' laying on of hands, marking the inclusion of this new group into the body of Christ. A central conflict arises with Simon the Sorcerer, who attempts to purchase the spiritual power he observes, prompting Peter to confront him with a call to repentance from wickedness. The Bible study concludes by emphasizing that the gift of God cannot be bought and that genuine faith requires a right heart before God, contrasting the authentic work of the Spirit with human attempts to manipulate divine power.
