Baptists on SermonAudio

This sermon explores the theological foundation of Christian obedience to authority, arguing that the ultimate motivator for keeping God's law is not the fear of punishment or the desire for a clear conscience, but genuine love for one's neighbor. By examining the commandments in Romans 13, the message demonstrates that love is the fulfilling of the law, as it naturally restrains harmful behaviors such as adultery, murder, and theft. The speaker challenges believers to move beyond superficial compliance driven by external consequences and instead cultivate a deep, internal commitment to loving others as themselves. This shift in motivation is presented as essential for recognizing the nearness of salvation and awakening from spiritual slumber. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a holistic transformation where every action, from paying taxes to personal conduct, is rooted in the selfless love that defines the Christian life.

There are only two places people go when they pass from this life: heaven or hell. Believers go into eternal bliss with their heavenly father where they remain forever. Unbelievers go to eternal suffering in the flames of an eternal hell where they remain with their leader: Satan.
