The best days of this world have arrived.
Not Ramadan. Not the last ten nights. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the greatest days of the year. These are the days when righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah ﷻ than at any other time, even more beloved than jihad, except for the one who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with nothing.
In this powerful Islamic lecture, Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan explains the virtues of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, the importance of the Day of Arafah, the story of the verse in which Allah completed the religion, and the key actions every Muslim should focus on during this blessed season.
These are days of worship, repentance, fasting, dua, dhikr, charity, Qur’an, sacrifice, and returning to Allah with sincerity.
In this episode, you will learn about:
The virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, including why Allah swore by them in the Qur’an, why righteous deeds are so beloved during these days, and how the major acts of worship come together in this blessed time.
The Day of Arafah, one of the greatest days in Islam. Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan discusses the reward of fasting on Arafah, the power of dua on this day, and the best words to say:
La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir.
You will also learn the three essential preparations for Dhul Hijjah:
Sincere repentance. A firm intention to benefit from these days. Staying away from sins.
The lecture also covers the most important recommended deeds during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, including prayer, fasting, Hajj and Umrah, takbir, tahmid, tahleel, charity, reading Qur’an, kindness to parents, maintaining family ties, feeding the poor, reconciling between people, and preparing for Udhiyah, also known as Qurbani or Qurban, on Eid al-Adha.
Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan also explains important rulings related to the takbir of Dhul Hijjah, including the difference between unrestricted and restricted takbir, when each one begins and ends, and how to follow the Sunnah correctly.
The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are a once-a-year opportunity for immense reward, mercy, forgiveness, and closeness to Allah.
Do not let them pass like ordinary days.
