Hi guys, welcome to Barbarossa: Apocalypse in the East. My name is Harry Stevens, and I'll be your host. This series is going to deal with Operation Barbarossa, the Axis invasion of the USSR in 1941. I plan to cover all angles, but primarily the military and economic history of the conflict. Before we get into Barbarossa though, we need to cover what came before. To do that I intend to makes three episodes of context. The first, this one, will cover the events of the first world war and its immediate aftermath, up to 1923. The second will take us from 1923 to the beginning of the Second World War. The third will explore the conduct of World War II from its beginning to June 22nd, 1941, when Operation Barbarossa began. As I mentioned those three will be context episodes, so if you already feel like you know enough, feel free to skip to the main episodes once I put those up. 

I'll try and post weekly as best I can.
