Bare Roots

A tale as old as time; a revengeful uncle out for the blood of his royal nephew. We see it in Lion King but maybe it also explains the disappearance of two princes in 1500s England. Join Elina and Shannon as they discuss Eddie and Richie, the Princes in the Tower, how they got in the position they were in and what ultimately led to their demise. Was it the uncle? Was it the brother-in-law? Or were they saved? #whereisyourtinfoilhat?

If you're a Harry Potter fan you'll know what we're talking about this week; it's the Philosopher's Stone. You know, that red, semi-clear stone that appeared in Harry's pocket at the end of the first book and what the book is named after. Well, J.K. Rowling didn't make this up, like may things in the series she was inspired by past events and legends. So this week we're discussing the origins of the Philosopher Stone, Nicholas Flamel, and modern attempts at immortality. Because Voldemort isn't the only person who's interested in it. #whereisyourtinfoilhat?

Ah, Anastasia. Elina's favorite animated princess movie, the one that shows both grit and glamour, is based entirely on a conspiracy theory?? That's right folks, this week we're getting into the mystery that is the Romanov family execution, the last of the Czars, and the birth of the legend of Anastasia. Did anybody really survive that basement shooting in early hours of the morning of July 17th 1918? Did Anastasia really make it all the way to America? Does the movie actually highlight the truth?? Join Elina and Shannon as they try to uncover the truth of this conspiracy theory.
