Last week we half-heartedly talked about a song, but this week is a full out celebration as we discuss “Hanukkah Blessings” with my friend, Bonnie, a long time BNL fan.

We’re back! Sorry. I don’t think I have the heart to tell you, but we are without Aaron this week. But I won’t be heartless and make you listen to just me talk about this song. Erik Butterworth, a long time fan of BNL is here to join us. Oh, and we will be talking about Half A Heart.

I am in awe this week. It is coincidental that the month we have been talking about the Barenaked Ladies Variety Show pilot, Harland Williams agreed to join us and talk about all his projects. He is hilarious and please visit all the links below. Go out and buy his children’s books, his “The Cousins” album, his stand-up specials, and go buy tickets to see him do live stand up on tour! Also go watch his new project “Two Guys in Their Underpants”. Oh yeah, and listen to his amazing interview here!
We will be back with music reviews next week.
If you want to buy “The Cousins” album (which we all highly recommend), you can get it on iTunes and in any store or online store that sells CDs or digital music.

Did you know that Barenaked Ladies recorded a pilot for Fox? If not, how did you miss last week’s interview? As a matter of fact, we break down this episode in detail, so go watch it before you listen because SPOILERS!!!
Thank you for Jeff Whitmire and Bobby Keniston for joining me this week for the discussion!

This week we take a hiatus from songs while we talk to Brent Carpenter. He co-directed and edited the Barenaked Ladies pilot for FOX. Before you start listening today, you should know that this week and next we will be discussing the Barenaked Ladies pilot episode. There will be spoilers throughout the discussion, especially next week. So I highly encourage you to watch the episode listed below before listening. Also, while recording, we had to step away for 10 minutes due to technical issues, so there is a break in the conversation and it might seem a little stilted. I have tried to edit as best I could to make it seamless.

A ghost of the past returns as Aaron joins us this week. And a hi-ho to our guest today, Bryan Ripper, from the All About The Mouse podcast. As we discuss a deep dive “Grim Grinning Ghosts”. And stick around after. We had a poltergeist encounter during the middle of our recording.

Green Christmas
Well, Newfoundland just got 5-12 feet of snow. Maine faired better but still got a foot. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. But the Southern US is looking pretty green right now. Which is pretty ironic, because this week we have Bill Meeks joining us to discuss “Green Christmas”. It is our last week of no Aaron (this was recorded before Christmas), but Bill and Tracy have a great time unwrapping this song anyway.

Holy Cow. Has it been a week already? Where does the time go when I’m not around here? I don’t know. But here we stand at the beginning of a year, with the podcast’s road growing ever wider, but our list only getting more narrow. Oh, and make sure you stick around to wait to see if we have any last words, because whenever Andrew and Justin are around, there are always outtakes.

Episode 102: Grade 9
“The Barenaked ABCs is an absurd podcast that reviews Barenaked Ladies songs. In an effort to sound more intelligent than they are, the hosts have arranged their list in an alphabetical manner, but most people think this is unnecessary because it leads odd combinations for irrational reasons.” That was the synopsis of the show that I wrote back in 9th grade. I was a visionary (mostly because back then the internet didn’t even exist. Want to hear more absurd ideas? The listen as we discuss “Grade 9” this week. It is just me (Tracy) so Mil Feirn has agreed to join me.
