The Barnes Boys Take you Back (do do do dooo) to 1976's amazing drama about a man who came from nothing but heart found value in who he was.
In this episode we talk about the unknown actor and writer who believed in himself enough to put EVERYTHING on the line to make this movie which won Best Picture and started Sylvester Stallone's career, Italian family dynamics, how faith in ones' self makes all the difference in the world, how Rocky ISN'T a boxing movie, and much more!
The Barnes Boys continues this excellent episode as Ryan and Anakin dive into the 1996 cult classic Swingers starring Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, taking a look at the confusion of 90's dating, old school Vegas, social awkwardness, Heather Graham's Dorian Grey-ness, and how Jon Favreau not only influenced all of our current culture, but also how he changed one of our lives!
Join the Barnes Boys as we continue with the long awaited part 2 of Season 2 with Pump Up the Volume.
Our deep dive covers California trees, radio broadcast regulations, smoking, loneliness, and a bit of teen suicide.

This week, the Barnes Boys takes it to the next level with our first guest, adding another generation of Barnes while we look at the 1975 movie Jaws. With all three generations we cover what it was like for Larry to see it in the movie theatre for its initial release, Ryan watching on VHS for the first time as a small child, and Anakin watching on DVD the first time as a kid! We also cover great topics such as pruning fingers, compare the surfing of the Pacific vs the Atlantic oceans, Knotts Scary Farm, the difficulties of filming in the water, and the genius of Steven Spielberg!
Join the Barnes Boys on the road while we talk about the movie Borat, Jim Carey becoming Andy Kaufman, the mighty return of Fanny Packs, handing down 1st World Technology to Soviet countries, treating others equally for good or ill, multi-layered humour, Ryan’s breast-feeding date, the reason sales people have a bad reputation, President Bush’s popularity, the misconception of purchasing guns in America, growing up in a Pentecostal church, violation of privacy, and a good discussion about what kind of jokes should be ok.
