Despite moving back and forth between the bullpen and starting rotation in college, Chris is paving his way as a starter in pro ball. He shares some of the key differences in approach and routine between both roles. Even though Pac-12 baseball has a reputation for being small-ball oriented, there are some legitimately deep lineups in the conference that can match up with the best teams from the SEC/ACC. Carlos Carrasco made his first in-game appearance since his leukemia diagnosis. He looked very sharp, as he sat in the mid-90s (touching 97) with his fastball. Carlos expects to be back with the Indians soon, and should provide a huge boost to their pitching staff. Chris Sale emerged from an appointment with Dr. James Andrews, and he will not be needing Tommy John Surgery at this point in time. Sale will be shut down for the rest of the season, and re-evaluated in 6 weeks. The A's are calling up AJ Puk. Puk will be featured out of the bullpen.
